Soon, very soon, we're going to have a completely new generation of celebrities, and they're all going to have one thing in common; they'll all be celebrity spawn.
Ewan McGregor has already made a big name for himself. In between having his three daughters (he has a fourth through adoption), he was starring as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and tons of other iconic roles. But now, his daughters are making a name for themselves in the business just like any other celebrity child who inevitably finds themselves following in their parent's footsteps.
McGregor's second-oldest daughter, Esther Rose, is just breaking out into her own career. She started modeling and has made her way over to bigger and better things in showbiz, and she's only 19 years old.
Here's everything to know about McGregor's daughter Esther Rose.
She's Just Dropped An EP
Last year, when Esther turned 18, she started a band called French Thyme with producer and saxophonist Leo Major. McGregor and Major met in French class, hence their band's name, and they drew their style of music from their shared French heritage. They both speak the language fluently and spent their childhood's in France as well.
Soon after forming their band, they dropped their first self-titled EP, which has seven tracks. On "Nuit Rose," McGregor switches between singing in French and English. The band has a new Instagram account for fans to keep track of their releases.
This isn't the first time McGregor has written songs, though. A year before French Thyme, in 2018, McGregor wrote a song that supposedly slammed her father and his affair with his co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, which subsequently ended her parent's marriage.
According to IB Times, in the song "Make You A Man," she sings, "seeing those pictures, they're making me cry," referring to photos of her father and Winstead that were published at the beginning of their affair.
She shared a clip of herself singing the rest of the song on her Instagram. "Waking up so slowly... I'm taking my time. I read some dumbs**t that I found online," she sung. "Seeing those pictures... They're making me cry. Happy birthday to me, am I right?
"And I don't know to forgive... I don't know if I can... Ruining me. Show me your man. And I don't know to forgive... Don't know if I can... Ruining me. Show me your man."
McGregor's older sister, Clara, also publicly voiced her opinions of her father's affair as well... sort of. She's denied that she was talking about her father in a comment on a picture she posted of her mother in a bikini. One fan commented to McGregor to keep her mother away from her boyfriend, to which Clara wrote back, "Nah I keep her away from a–hole men who leave my goddess of a mother. :)" Clara wrote, according to ET.
But she later set the record straight to say that she wasn't talking about papa McGregor. "Let’s make one thing clear. I was not attacking my dad or calling him [an] a–hole," Clara wrote over a screenshot of an article talking about her comment. "I was simple saying she deserves someone who isn’t one. F— tabloids. Don’t believe everything you read."
But Clara has made comments about Winstead specifically. On a Winstead fan page, Clara wrote, "Most beautiful and talented woman on earth? Oh man y’all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash x."
She later apologized, saying, "It wasn’t the most mature way to go about things, but I was angry and upset." So we know for sure that the McGregor sisters agree that their father's mistress is not good news.
But getting back to the creative things that McGregor has done so far, she's also modeled for various campaigns. She and her sister have also modeled for Fendi together.
But other than that, she's just living her life as a young adult, dabbling in things here and there and watching as her father and sister navigate showbiz.
In 2019, the McGregor sisters also came together to boycott Coachella because the festival's founder is allegedly anti-LGBTQ. In their boycott, they both revealed that they are bisexual.
After her sister revealed her sexual orientation, Clara took to her social media to say, "Love you boo. I'll hop on the train and say I'm bisexual too. Carry on!"
So it would seem as if the sisters have more in common than we thought. So far as we know, they are back on speaking terms with their father (if they ever weren't). We don't if he's given his daughters any advice on starting careers in his business, but it looks like the McGregor's are very capable of handling themselves.
