The last decade has been a quiet one for alternative rock band Evanescence. Once a massively popular band, known for hits like "My Immortal" and "Bring Me To Life," they've had no single or album release since 2017, and their music hasn't cracked the charts since 2011. There were even speculations that the band had separated.
Proving these speculations wrong, the band has just blasted back onto the scene with a new single, which is a part of their upcoming album.
The single, titled "Better Without You," was released on 5th March 2021.
This is the fourth single to be released from their upcoming album The Bitter Truth, which is scheduled to release on March 26th 2021.
The official music video shows Amy Lee, the band’s lead vocalist, belting out fiery lyrics set to some raging electric guitar riffs that speak of unapologetic independence - a callback to their sound from ten years ago.
Previously, the band performed "Wasted On You," one of the other singles from the album on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
There is one other single, "Use My Voice," which is a collaboration with Halestorm‘s Lzzy Hale and The Pretty Reckless' Taylor Momsen.
Fans in the UK and Europe who are already excited about this unexpected return are in luck - they may get a chance to hear their favorite band performing live in their hometown.
To promote their album the band has announced tour dates for UK and Europe in September and October of this year. More information about the tour is available on their website.
