All-peculiar Twenty One Pilots, the musical duo, are not a common band nor are they totally music-typical hippie. To be precise, their description needs a bit more, something that has to do with consequential unnatural methods of making music. Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, the band set off on music journey in the year 2009, having no expectation or hunger for fame. The subjects that their music is generally based on are quite relatable mainly owing to the lyrics oriented to complications of humankind.

Songs of such gravity don't exactly appeal to listeners of Hip Hop and Rock, do they? Though, the Pilots got it covered with the insane creative energy as the secret sauce for their projects. Songs such as Jumpsuit and Guns For Hands exemplify the application of such energy. Evidently, their way works pretty well.

Well, the Blurryface stars have always been otherworldly. Lead vocalist, Tyler Joseph said he didn’t know exactly how things unfolded for them to the glory of Grammy. However, he remembers how he dug out the band title. Based on All My Sons written by Arthur Miller, the strange title Twenty One Pilots was picked up by Joseph while he was giving it a read. It's the story of a man who is credited with the death of 21 pilots during World War II because he deliberately delivered defective plane parts.

Joseph explained it was totally sudden, “I was studying a play, and in that play, someone made a decision, and they sent out faulty airplane parts during the war, and 21 pilots died because they sent them out. Then that person who sent them out, that was the main character, he tried to justify why he sent those parts out, and he ultimately ended up committing suicide at the end of the play."

As lame as it may sound for a band, Twenty One Pilots actually has a severe meaning to it. According to the duo, the title is a constant reminder for the duo to go for the right decisions however bad or difficult the situation is.

Unlike typical musical bands that are bent on keeping their listeners hooked and have their image polished, 21 Pilots go for the significance of contentment in life and that's all. They infuse a lot of meaning to their masterpieces. Methodically, Pilots seek to maintain the essence they have been carrying since their inception.

Well, things have never been straight and easy to understand, as far as the duo is concerned. The best one yet from the duo, Blurryface proved to be nature-defining and also brought worldwide infamy to the Pilots. The nature of songs was understandable and to a great extent, relatable. From the album, the Stressed Out music video is, as if, a deep conversation is going on with a friend who is having hard times.

The songs are the outcome of crazy motivations. Similarily, these Grammy-winners had their way of accepting the honor. As evident, Stressed Out helped the duo land their first Grammy and it was quite an event. The Pilots dropped their pants before hopping onto the stage to collect the award. As previously mentioned, everything they do has a background and meaning. As for the collection of Grammy in their underwear, Joseph turned the reel backward recalling the old days.

“As we were watching (Grammy Awards), we noticed that every single one of us was in our underwear, and seriously, Josh turned to me - and we were no-one at that time - and he said to me, ‘if we ever go to the Grammys, if we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this.’”

The path hasn't been a bed of roses for the Pilots, but they stick to the plan no matter what. Amid tremendous competition in the music world, they made a name that none can forget. Twenty One Pilots have come a long way.
