Olivia Holt plays Kate Wallis in the new drama series, Cruel Summer, which airs Tuesday nights on Freeform. It is produced by Jessica Biel and airs on Hulu the next day. Cruel Summer is told over the summers of 1993, 1994 and 1995. A girl goes missing and another, who may or may not know more than she is letting on, takes over her life.
While watching the series viewers might recognize some of the actors from other places. This is the case for Olivia Holt. Cruel Summer is not her first acting appearance, and it mostly definitely won't be the last. If anything this show has jump-started her career.
The 23-year-old has dabbled in acting and singing and made many appearances on Disney Channel. So while fans are trying to figure out what exactly is happening on the show, they can put one thing to rest- where they've seen Olivia Holt before.

Olivia Holt was only 12-years-old at the time, but she was already starring in movies. In Black & Blue, a 17- year-old ends up homeless on the streets of LA and makes her way by playing music with other homeless kids. Holt plays Claire. Not much is known about her character or the film, but it seems as though she is one of the kids the 17-year-old meets. Looks like her musical career started young too.

Seen above doing voicework for Tinker Bell And The Legend Of The NeverBeast playing Morgan, Holt didn't stray away from her Disney roots. She has also done voices for Gnome Alone, where she voice Brittany, and Trouble, where she voiced Bella. Holt also voice Tandy Bowen in the animated Spider-man TV show, which premiered on Disney XD. Remember Shake It Up with Zendaya and Bella Thorne? Well, back in 2013, Holt starred in the show and played a young Georgia (who plays Bella Thorne's and her onscreen brother's mom) in the episode, "My Bitter Sweet 16 It Up." During that episode, there was a dance routine where you hear Holt singing a rendition of "These Boots Are Made For Walking."
8 Holt Had A Main Role On The Disney XD Show 'Kickin' It'
Her first major role, Kickin' It put Olivia Holt on the map. Kickin' It is a comedy TV series that aired on Disney XD. It aired for four seasons. Holt was a regular on seasons 1 through 2 and had a recurring role in season 4. Kickin' It was the highest rated series premiere in XD history.
7 Olivia Was The Main Role In Disney Channel's 'I Didn't Do It'
I Didn't Do It follows brother-sister twins (played by Holt and Outer Banks' Austin North) and their three best friends as they begin their freshmen year of high school at Ditka High. Each episode in season one began with a "what just happened?" situation followed by a story. It only lasted two seasons unfortunately, but it definitely gave Olivia the push she needed as an actress.
6 She Was One Of The Main Characters In The Marvel Show 'Cloak & Dagger'
Perhaps her best widely-known role, Holt played Tandy Bowen/Dagger in Cloak & Dagger. It was a TV series that was adapted to Freeform, based on the Marvel comics' characters of the same name. Dagger is one of the two teenagers in the show who has superpowers and forms a partnership with Cloak. The show was cancelled in 2019, and season 3 would not happen. However, you can still see the show on Disney Plus.
5 Olivia Took Home A Teen Choice Award
For her role in Cloak & Dagger, Holt was nominated for many awards. She took home the Teen Choice Award in 2018 for Choice Summer TV star. That year she was also nominated for Choice Female Hottie, but did not win. She was nominated the same year for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress. 4 She Starred In The Movie 'The Standoff'
Eight teenagers who can barely stand each other have to keep their hands on a car for three days, without sleep, for the chance to win it. What could go wrong? Olivia plays the main character, Amy Roberts. The movie is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. It also stars Alex Wolff and Ryan McCartan. Fans have given it a good rating, while Rotten Tomatoes think it probably shouldn't have been made.
3 She Has Collaborated With Jordan Fisher... And With R3HAB
Aside from acting, Holt is also a singer. Check out the amazing cover of "You've Got a Friend In Me" from Toy Story featuring To All The Boys I've Loved star Jordan fisher. Their voices make you want to smile and sing it with your best friend. She teamed up with him again on another song, which was on her EP. R3hab featured her on his song "Wrong Moves" with THRDL!FE and on the remix of her song, "love u again."
