Before being a makeup mogul, Patrick Ta didn't enter his career as makeup artist being his initial choice. While now his daily work routine is working with some of the most well-known names in the celebrity world, Ta actually considered becoming a culinary chef at one point. When realizing this was not the career path for him, he later opened his own nail and tanning salon in Scottsdale, Arizona states Forbes.com. Unfortunately, Ta's salon ceased to work out and eventually went bankrupt.

another opportunity came along, which put him on the road to his now lucrative career. Patrick told Forbes.com,
"my roommate at the time gave me my first job doing makeup at MAC Cosmetics and from there my obsession for makeup began,”
and with no makeup experience he went on to do people's makeup for events such as proms and weddings as a freelance makeup artist. This job he received at MAC provided him with a roster of knowledge and experience of makeup,
“I was really lucky to have had that chance, because I learned so much about makeup,“ Ta says now.
4 He Grew His Career Through Instagram
After gaining his experience with makeup at MAC Cosmetics, Ta decided to create an Instagram account showcasing his artwork on the app. Around the time he created his account was the same time when Instagram's popularity was just beginning. This was an ideal time for Ta to start building his profile. He would practice his makeup skills on his girlfriends and they would share the looks he did on them online, which led to Patrick gaining a clientele and to him pursuing his career as a freelance makeup artist in Los Angeles, California.
3 Shay Mitchell Helped Begin His Success
Patrick's decision to become a freelance makeup artist in Los Angeles, was a major turning point in his career. This big career venture started out without him not knowing anyone in the large city. He used his Instagram to "connect with influencers to do their
makeup," and one day Shay Mitchell followed his account and sent him a direct message. She saw the images Ta uploaded of his girlfriends to his account and wanted him to do her own makeup. This was a paramount moment in his career, as Ta told People.com,
"That was my first celebrity ever. Back then I was obsessed with Pretty Little Liars, and I called my mom freaking out." Mitchell put Ta on the map as one of the most successful makeup artists in Hollywood today.
2 Then Came Hollywood's Biggest Names
Since working with Shay Mitchell, Patrick Ta became many A-List celebrities go-to makeup artist. After landing his job with Mitchell, Ta knew his career was about to explode as her being his first celebrity client. He then went on to work with model, Gigi Hadid, and Ta says she really took his artistic abilities a step further. He told Forbes.com,
"I met Gigi Hadid which took my work to the next level in the world of high fashion."

1 He Created His Own Makeup Line
After working in the industry for years and working alongside some of the best names in the celebrity world, Patrick Ta definitely has some of the most advanced knowledge of makeup there is. It only makes sense that the makeup expert has launched his own beauty line in April of 2019.
The release of his makeup line, Patrick Ta Beauty, is "an homage to the women in his life that have supported him and given him the confidence to be who he is."
Patrick Ta Beauty debuted with the "Major Glow" collection and included, "three highlighting mists, body oils and lip shines." Ta's line started off with a bang by being sold at Sephora, one of the biggest makeup stores in the world, since its release.
