When Full House debuted on television in 1987, there was no way for anyone to know how passionate the show’s following would wind up being. Easily one of the most squeaky clean sitcoms of its era, even though Full House tackled some series issues, the show was considered very safe viewing for the whole family. As a result, an entire generation of kids grew up watching Full House regularly throughout their childhoods. In the years since Full House went off the air in 1995, a lot of those children continued to love it.

Since so many people have continued to care deeply about Full House, Netflix produced a spin-off series that lasted for several seasons. Partially as a result of Fuller House’s success, a lot of people began to keep a closer eye on the personal lives of the people who starred in that series and the sitcom the spawned it. For example, when it was announced that Bob Saget had gotten married, Full House fans were left wondering, who was his wife, Kelly Rizzo, before they met?

Bob’s Past Personal Life

When Full House became a big hit with audiences, Bob Saget suddenly himself thrust into the spotlight. For most actors, that would be a strange experience but when it came to Saget, it was extremely wild to say the very least. After all, even though Saget became famous for starring in a squeaky clean sitcom as a surprisingly innocent character, in real life Bob is a foul-mouthed comedian. In fact, Bob is such a different person than Full House’s Danny Tanner that Danielle Fishel was almost scarred by who Saget is when not in character.

At the height of Full House’s success, Bob Saget went on that ride with his wife at that time, Sherri Kramer. After walking down the aisle in 1982, Saget and Kramer would sadly go their separate ways in 1997 which must have been very painful for both of them. With that in mind, it makes sense that Saget has said that he believed he would never find love again for a long time after his divorce. Fortunately, he proved to be wrong in that regard.

The Happy Couple

In 2018, Bob Saget took a lot of his fans by surprise when he announced on Instagram that he had become a married man. “Okay, so we went and did it. And damn are we happy.” While most of Saget’s fans were delighted to learn that he had seemingly found happiness, some of his followers were left with questions, especially since Bob is a lot older than his wife.

Over time, a decent amount of information has come out about the major moments in Bob Saget and Kelly Rizzo’s relationship. For example, it is known that Saget and Rizzo met when a mutual friend introduced them in 2015. After traveling together a lot and growing closer together, Saget reportedly proposed to Rizzo while they were in the middle of watching an episode of Stranger Things. According to how Saget has described the moment he asked Rizzo to marry him, it seems like a very touching scene despite the laid-back way things went down.

“I got up to go to the restroom, and I opened the safe and I took out a ring that I had been hiding for four days and I got on one knee. And she said ‘What are you doing?!’ She got very emotional, and so did I. I tried to put it in words that make sense. I adore her. She’s fantastic and I’m a very lucky man.”

Before Bob

Of course, even though a lot of people only became aware of who Kelly Rizzo is after she got into a relationship with Bob Saget, her life started long before they met. In fact, Rizzo had already enjoyed a pretty interesting life before she met her husband.

Born and raised in Chicago, Kelly Rizzo reportedly entered the world in May of 1979. Said to be a Christian, Rizzo was an only child with two adoring parents. After graduating from Newport Harbor High School, Rizzo would go on to earn a degree in Journalism from the University of Iowa. Still not through with her education, Rizzo would then go on to study Italia, Media, and Theater at DePaul University.

After wrapping up her education, Kelly Rizzo began to fashion a career as a public figure. Hired to join the cast of VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live and NBC5’s Chicago news, Rizzo also popped up in the music video for Florida Georgia Line’s song “Get Your Shine On”. Rizzo also figured out early the value of forging her own opportunities. As a result, by the time she met Bob Saget, Rizzo had already become an Instagram model with more than 129k followers. More notably, years before she met Saget, Rizzo launched Eat Travel Rock. An “award-winning on-demand entertainment series where she goes behind the scenes and off the cuff with master chefs, rockstars, and other creative industry heavyweights while traveling the world.”
