Professionally trained actor-turned-content creator, Cameron Geller has gone viral countless times since making his YouTube debut nearly two years back ... but can he remember the very first time it happened?

We sat down with the rising star to hear about the first time he went viral, the ups and downs of being a YouTuber, and his plans for the future.

Cameron Can Remember Two Occasions He Went Viral, Early On

Going viral is a big moment for any content creator, and Cameron Geller is no exception to the rule.

However, he shares that the very first time he made waves with his content, his audience was a pretty insular one.

"It was on a very local level," he reminisces.

"I made a caricature of the Montreal neighborhood I was raised in, and it blew up, locally."

However, even if his first viral moment was resonating with a pretty niche audience, the reaction he got was enough to light his spark, and for that reason, he'll always remember exactly how he felt in the moment.

"It was such a surreal feeling. I just felt very reassured that moving into content creation had been the right call for me, and that people would vibe with my sense of humor if I could get it in front of them."

It was only a matter of time before Cameron did just that - and soon, he was having his first 'true' viral moment.

"The next time, I broke into millions of views on TikTok. This was my first, 'We don't even have to try' audio lip sync video, which has since gone on to become a viral series."

Thinking back to his excitement at the time, Cameron smiles.

"Getting over 1 million views was a huge benchmark for me, and I remember feeling a sense of, 'This is what I've been looking for.'"

Cameron Acknowledges The Challenges Of Content Creation

Going viral hasn't always equaled smooth sailing for Cameron Geller, however.

In fact, asked of the unique challenges he's faced since gaining traction, he points out that at the end of the day, any social media is a private company - and that can often present hurdles.

"At the end of the day, these are private companies, who can do as they please, and that puts creators in a very vulnerable position. Getting accounts banned, having content restricted, being demonetized, shadowbanned, or even just not being able to get verified are all struggles content creators know all too well."

As for his own experience with being banned, Cameron chuckles that recently, after buying a new phone, he came close to losing access to his Instagram account.

"They just couldn't confirm my identity," he explains, still bemused.

Luckily, however, he managed to get it back.

A moment of rejoice, for Cameron Geller fans far and wide.

Cameron Shares His Plans For 2023 And Beyond

Challenges aside, Cameron Geller wouldn't change his career path for the world.

Far from it, he has big plans for the future, both short- and long-term.

"2023 is shaping up to be a huge year for me," he beams.

"I definitely plan on leaning in heavily to my newfound YouTube audience. I really only grew an audience there in the last 8 months, so I want to make the most of it and take my YouTube to the next level."

More specifically, he's aiming at 1 million subscribers - and with 494k at the time of writing, he's not far off!

But wait, there's more.

Cameron also reveals that he's looking to diversify his content.

With an already impressive TikTok and Instagram fanbase (he's pushing to get his blue check marks soon), added channels of content would include a foray into music and podcasting.

"I dropped my first song in 2022, and I have plans to release more music this year - and I'd be super interested in getting into the podcast game."

As for his long-term goals, the trained actor and experienced comedian smiles that he'd love to be involved in more traditional media, too.

"I'd love to be featured on SNL, or be brought onto the next big sitcom ... or even have a show of my own, one day," he muses, concluding our chat.

Well, if his track record of going viral is anything to go by, those certainly seem like goals within reach!
