There's only one episode remaining in this season of 1000-lb Best Friends. Throughout Season 3 of the reality TV show, each member of the group has struggled with their own challenges in their respective weight-loss journeys, with no two the same.

While Vannessa is arguably the furthest ahead in her weight-loss efforts (recently at an all-time low of 188 pounds), the change in her lifestyle has often caused rifts among the friend group, particularly in her friendships with those who feel like their progress has plateaued. Ahead of this week's episode, TheThings was given an exclusive clip from the finale where Meghan opens up about her struggles with her own self-image.

Vannessa And Meghan Have A Difference Of Opinion At Dinner

In the most recent episode of the season, the group ventured out on a trip to the mountains, thinking it would be a nice change of pace and a relaxing getaway. That said, the vacation wasn't without its drama, and, at the end of the episode, drama ensued when they accidentally went for dinner at a restaurant that served family-style comfort food. This meant that it would be a major challenge for Scott and Tina (who are both currently on liquid diets) to find things they would actually be able to eat.

When Meghan sensed that Scott was getting overwhelmed, unsure if he would be able to resist the temptation of the food before him and upset that he didn't do more research about the restaurant before making a reservation, she suggested that he try picking off the skin of the fried chicken so he could at least eat the meat. This is when Vannessa chimed in to say that, even if Scott removed the skin, he still wasn't allowed to eat anything fried while on his diet.

The support group takes their first out of town trip together.

Before long, Vannessa and Meghan got into an argument, which is where the exclusive clip picks up. Vannessa says that she "doesn't agree" with Meghan advising their friend to eat fried chicken, and Meghan, upset and feeling attacked, walks out of the restaurant. "Am I not allowed to say something about that?" Vannessa asks. "We are friends. We are supposed to hold our friends responsible and accountable, right?"

Vannessa goes on to tell the cameras that she believes the real reason Meghan was upset was less to do with the dinner situation and more to do with her own struggle to lose weight:

I feel like this fight has nothing to do with chicken or ribs, that it's more that underlying jealousy that Meghan has about me and my success. She don't [sic] want me to tell anybody any advice at all.

Back in the restaurant, we see Vannessa go on to advise Tina not to heed Meghan's advice. "If you listen to her on diet options, you'll end up like her," she emphasizes.

Meghan Resents Vannessa's Attitude

For her part, Meghan tells the cameras that she's fed up with Vannessa's know-it-all attitude. She doesn't hold back with her criticism of her longtime friend:

I feel like Vannessa has constantly felt like she is the more educated one when it comes to surgery and nutrition, and that pisses me off. F*** you. I don't even know what I weigh right now, but I know, for one thing, I'm working my a** off to make sure that I meet my goal for Dr. Procter.

Meghan goes on to say that she has her next weigh-in coming up in a few more weeks, and so hearing her friend say such harmful things is really getting into her head. "It's not okay. That's not what friends do," she points out.

Scott struggles with a kitchen clean out.

Meghan continues to take some space away from the group, sitting on a bench outside of the restaurant and shedding tears as she reflects on her struggle and upcoming check-in. "I'm starting to realize I don't need any validation from anybody," she admits in a shaky voice, "Because I know I'm successful, and I don't have to prove [anything] to Vannessa. I don't."

Meanwhile, back in the restaurant, we see that Scott has spoken to the restaurant manager, who says they'd be able to prepare plain grilled chicken and vegetables for him and Tina so that they don't have to break their diets. Tina thanks him for going over to ask, and it seems like the two will end the trip having successfully stayed on track.

This will come as an especially big accomplishment for Scott, who has struggled not only with overeating throughout the season, but also with lying about his consumption to those around him. In his previous check-in with Dr. Procter, in fact, he failed to meet his weight-loss goals, and though he swore that he had been following the plan that Dr. Procter had given him, his mother outted him on his dark secret: that he'd been binging on packets of string cheese and leaving the discarded wrappers hidden behind the couch and in drawers throughout their home.

For Tina, too, sticking to the strict liquid diet has proven challenging. While she was already approved for and had her bariatric surgery this season, afterward she found the recovering to be incredibly difficult. Though she was supported by her loving husband and friends, she explained that not being able to eat the same foods as those around her had been incredibly isolating and, at times, even depressing. Thankfully, her friends who had already had their bariatric surgery were able to comfort her and assure her that they'd also gone through a similar emotional rollercoaster and come out on the other side.

Scott faces some hard truths and Vannessa finally gets her skin removal surgery.

Once Meghan has calmed down, she returns to their table inside, saying that she's going to "go back in there and hold [her] head up high." Before we can see how her confrontation with Vannessa goes, however, the clip ends, leaving us hanging. Viewers will have to turn into the season finale in order to see how the rest of the drama plays out between the women.

On top of the relationship drama between Meghan and Vannessa, we'll also get to see Scott prepare for his upcoming surgery, which he's only recently been approved for. With Scott slated to have his procedure, this will mean that almost everyone in the group has received their bariatric surgery, meaning they're each steadily moving forward in their weight-loss journeys.

All current episodes of 1000-lb Best Friends are currently available to stream on TLC. The Season 3 finale is set to air on Tuesday, December 17, at 10pm ET/PT.
