Even before the use of social media, David Spade had his fair share on naysayers. Given the fact that he's been getting feedback throughout his career, the comedian really doesn't get fazed by negativity easily.

Speaking alongside Forbes, Spade discussed dealing with critics since his days on SNL.

“Back then I didn’t have 30 million critics, which is Twitter and Instagram,” he explained. “You used to have actual critics that would now and then write a piece about SNL and they’d mention me, but that was really all you’d get."

He continues, "But now you wake up and you finish the show and ten minutes later you look and everyone has an opinion. I got to get a thick skin I guess. I like the ones that like it. I’m surprisingly good with the compliments. It’s the negative ones that get to me.”

Spade would even reveal that he tries to take something away from even the negative comments. Though at times, he won't hesitate to push the block button if things are taken too far.

“You can't find a star that doesn’t get it, so it’s okay. No one’s changing it, but I try to give some people a fair shake. If I find some constructive criticism in there, which is hard, then I will. But a lot of it is just super mean and rough. You just disregard it so they don’t get heard. I block them. I have a real block party," Spade reveals with Forbes.

Well, the actor was certainly a sport alongside Jimmy Kimmel, taking part in Mean Tweets multiple times in the past.
