After Netflix premiered the first few episodes of the second season Love Is Blind, fans were immediately not vibing with the cast or what was happening. A whole new crop of good-looking young adults who were ready to get married would decide to get engaged without ever meeting face to face.

Even in terms of reality TV dating shows, Love Is Blind is wild and the magic of season one was quite a ride. To viewers' surprise, two season-one couples who got engaged on the show are still married!

Fan favorites Lauren and Cameron had a spark viewers loved to witness from the beginning and their true love story led Love Is Blind to be a hit.

The other couple who married, Amber and Barnett, had to overcome a love triangle with fellow contestant Jessica who also wound up engaged but later seemed to regret the decision. Plus who could ever forget that Jessica was 34 and matched with Mark who was 24 years old, and she just couldn't get over it.

Needless to say, fans had high hopes for season two and there has been some disappointment. Hosted by married couple Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey, Love Is Blind season two has had some positive aspects but overall it's been criticized.

Fans Love The Ethnically Diverse Cast

Season two has a lot more people of color. Fans did note the diversity in the cast, and it was appreciated. Of the couples who were engaged, six individuals were people of color.

While this type of diversity is a step in the right direction, viewers couldn't help but noticed that there were some plus-size cast members who didn't end up being part of an engagement or get much screen time at all. There were definitely questions over where these people went and why they ended up on the cutting room floor.

The creator and executive producer responded to this criticism by maintaining that each season Love Is Blind has had diversity in both ethnicity and body shape size. It was then explained that there are only so many people that can get significant camera time.

For a show that is completely based on not focusing on a person's looks, it was the thin and conventionally attractive cast members who got the most screen time.

There Was A Lack Of Character Development

Views loved season one of Love Is Blind because they loved the couples as individuals and loved seeing them come together. Season two (so far) has lacked a lot of character development and left many fans feeling like it was all so rushed.

By the end of episode one, Nick and Danielle had already decided to get engaged and meet, and it felt like fans didn't even really know them. Viewers complained of not even really caring anytime a couple matched and even found the whole thing disingenuous.

Netflix only has a certain amount of episodes to tell this story. Love Is Blind is set in stages where couples do a fun vacation at a resort in Mexico, then live in the real world, and then get married. The couples go back to their real jobs and try to incorporate this new relationship into their lives which is another challenge played out for the cameras.

It isn't that the cast is unlikable, they just don't seem to have the same charm season one cast members had with each other.

The Couples Don't Seem To Love Each Other

This is Love Is Blind so are viewers just not seeing the love? Fans are convinced that all of these matched couples don't even really like each other let alone love each other enough to get married. Not one couple has two members who are both 100% in and confident in their future.

Engaged couple Kyle and Shaina had the weirdest proposal and subsequent very fast separation that left viewers feeling uncomfortable yet not surprised. It was obvious Kyle wasn't Shaina's first choice so Shaina just left. Unfortunately, they weren't the only ones having this issue.

Iyanna wasn't Jarrette's first choice either and Iyanna had major hesitations over accepting a proposal because she knew this. Mallory also had deep feelings for both Jarrette and Sal who she eventually got engaged to. But then had a visceral reaction to being with him at first. Shayne also had problems choosing between Natalie and Shaina.

Five episodes in and all the couples are matched up, but viewers aren't seeing the sweet, easy love they saw in season one with Lauren and Cameron. With the remaining episodes (and finale) upcoming, fans are still shaking their heads, but maybe there's time to turn things around!
