The Reddit page dedicated to criticizing Jessie James Decker's entire family is at it again. This time, they're frustrated with the singer's decision to take a family vacation to Greece.
Anonymous commentators are rattled by her social media posts while plane bound, with zero masks in sight. Is this just another attempt to rain on her parade, or is she really disrespecting health protocols?
Off To Greece
According to online sources, Greece has had an elevated amount of COVID cases in the last month, suspected of newfound visitors. Even since May 24th, over 1,000 new diagnoses have erupted.
Decker announced via Instagram that she, Eric Decker, and their three children are taking a break from day-to-day life to visit the country. Redditors are much less than thrilled.
One wrote within a thread, "This is proof she’s mocking everyone who understands and believes in the importance of wearing a mask. She clearly does these displays for attention. Hey let’s all be really cool and take our masks off on the plane. Clowns."
Calling three young kids "clowns" sounds out of touch, frankly. It's their parents' decision to take care of them and protect their health. Other commenters pointed out that they may have only taken off their masks for the photo.
One of them said, "Most people take their masks off while smiling for pictures. For example, Disney lets you take them off to take pictures. I doubt the airline is gonna let them be maskless the entire flight."
Good Intentions
The Deckers have not announced if they've been vaccinated, but that's also their choice to do so. However, other Redditors also pointed out that their youngest son has experienced severe respiratory issues during the pandemic.
They deemed it unsafe to allow him to travel considering such precautions. Another skeptic was unsure that Americans were even able to travel at this time.
Another decided to call out the excursion, "I didn’t even think you could travel to Europe right now. Also, why would they take their young kids there? It’s so much walking and doesn’t really scream 'kid friendly' or at least not this age of kids."
We chose the mildest of critiques. The amount of hate inflicted upon this family is wild, and Reddit never ceases to amaze us at the lengths people will go to when their faces and names aren't attached to their profiles.
