Entering into the year 2000 was a pretty stressful time if anyone can remember back that far. However, our worries were short-lived. Not only did we all survive Y2K, but the first season of Gilmore Girls also premiered in 2000. At this point in time, it is safe to say that there will never EVER be another Gilmore Girls. Of course, the creator has gone on to gift us other treasures like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but still, Gilmore Girls is totally one of a kind.

Actress Alexis Bledel admitted to Entertainment Weekly that no explanations were ever given to them, so most of the time, she didn't catch them either.

As weird as it may sound, this one does add up. Alexis Bledel had just turned 19 when she was cast as Rory Gilmore. While most would consider that old enough to be drinking coffee, it's understandable that a teen wouldn't like the taste. According to The Whisp, Rory's coffee cup was usually filled with Coke, as she didn't care for the hard stuff.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Amy Sherman-Palladino revealed that Luke was never actually meant to be such a major part of the series. In fact, he was originally meant to be a woman named Daisy. She was quoted "[The network] came to me and said we need another guy, so I literally just took a character and changed the name, didn’t even change any of the dialogue because I’m that lazy."

10 The Creator Was Inspired By A Real-Life Small Town In Washington, Connecticut

It may come as a tough blow, but Stars Hollow is not actually a real place. However, according to the creator of the series herself, it was inspired by a small town she once drove through with her husband. "We're driving by, and people are slowing down saying, 'Excuse me, where is the pumpkin patch?'" Yup, sounds like Stars Hollow to us!

9 Windward Circle: The Jess Spin-Off That Almost Was

While Sherman-Palladino didn't like her for the part, she knew she had to develop something for her. Actress Liza Weil confessed to having nerves about the role initially, "I love Paris now, and I've always loved her, but it was scary to be a judgmental, mean girl."
