When the cast for the reboot of Gossip Girl was announced, fans were particularly excited about one name on the list: Emily Alyn Lind. Emily Alyn Lind can sing, and she can do so well! Speaking to Nylon Magazine in 2020, Lind discussed what led her to release an EP during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and she also premiered the music video for her song, "Spotless Mind."

“I think that for me, it's whatever I feel confident in. That tends to, a lot of the time, go into gender-neutral, I guess you could say, fashion statements. I really like gender-neutral fashion. I just always have. A lot of style icons for me are men."

3 She Wants To Play Characters That Spark Hard Conversations

In another interview with Soap Central, Lind talked about the kind of characters she feels most excited to play. Lind hopes to play a part in having hard, real discussions that need to be had but can often be pushed aside. From mental health to sexual harassment conversations - she wants to open doors with her acting.

"Any character that plays a part in desensitizing current subject matter. Mental health is real, gender inequality is real, racial discrimination is real, sexual harassment is real. It's all real, and it all needs to be talked about. Like really talked about."

2 She Finds Solace In Music

Lind finds solace and peace in music, and when talking to Town And Country Magazine, she said she always has. It gave her peace as a child when she dealt with anxiety, and knowing that so many young adults struggle with anxious feelings and need to find peace, she can relate.

1 She Fell In Love With 'Gossip Girl'

Part of the reason she signed on for the Gossip Girl reboot was that the cast all love what they do. They're a big family, from the cast to the crew and everyone involved, and Lind says that's important to her. In an interview with ET, she spoke about that love and how it played a role in her deciding to take on Audrey Hope.

"I met with our casting director, and I met with Josh Safran and they gave me a rundown of everything that's going on. The way that they explained everything and the way that they talked about how it's a family, it's going to be a good time. It's like we wouldn't do this if we weren't all in love with each other and so happy to go to work."
