Grace Fan “Gracie” DeVito might be from a family of famous actors, but she much prefers life from behind-the-scenes. As the daughter of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, the motivated young New Yorker could easily have used her parents’ connections to burst into the world of acting. In fact—that is exactly what her two siblings, Lucy DeVito and Joseph DeVito, chose to do. However, Gracie is all about standing out from the crowd; instead of throwing herself in front of the cameras, she has dedicated herself to a different side of the movie industry. Unlike her famous family, Gracie’s true passion is film production.

Over the years, Gracie has produced several films, earned an MFA and made an impact in the less visible corner of the art world. The only problem? Fans rarely get to see her face. So, what does Gracie DeVito look like? We have done some digging to help movie lovers put a face to the name of the woman who makes movies happen... from the other side of the cameras.

Gracie Over The Years

The young producer got started in the business at a very early age. According to IMDb, Gracie produced her very first film in 2006–when she was only twenty-one years old. The comedy, titled My Girlfriend’s Abroad, deals with the issues typical of college students, like fraternities, studying abroad and dorm life. It follows a university student named Kevin as he struggles to remain faithful to his girlfriend during her semester away.

Her next film Bloom came out only a year later in 2007; nonetheless, the piece dealt with much more mature themes. The film zeroes in on a family that survives on fishing in order to explore the meaning of relationships, independence and even death. To make the movie even more complex, Gracie cast her own mother in the most intense role. The result was a beautiful blend of fictional characters and a real-life family.

Throughout her twenties, Gracie appeared several times alongside her parents at LA events. In the photo above, Gracie—featured on the far right—joins her family at the opening of her father’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011.

The Young Artist Now

While Gracie continues working on film production, a lot has changed for her in the past decade. In fact, she has added on to her movie career by dedicating herself to making contemporary art—and even showing her work in galleries.

Art Space reports that Gracie is known for her unique artistic style. “Through a humorous collaging of objects, materials and stories, DeVito creates non-linear, narrative-based physical works and performances,” the outlet describes. How impressive!

Gracie has also grown up a lot in the past ten years. At the World Premiere of  Dumbo, Gracie (center) sports a way more mature look in her blazer and low black heels.

It is far too early to know what is next for the artsiest DeVito child, but we are excited to see how her accomplishments evolve over the course of the next decade!
