The decision to dismiss the star from the show in 2020 came after Captain Sandy Yawn saw proof of Hannah’s substances in a photo sent to her by bosun Malia White. The photograph included a prescription box of Valium, a CBD pen, a lighter, and a personalized passport holder.

Since her dismissal, Captain Sandy has explained that she and Hannah are in a good space as well as the real reason for firing Hannah. Hannah faced dismissal not because she had unauthorized substances onboard, but because she was an untrustworthy crew member.

In an interview afterward, Sandy explained the situation to Vanity Fair.

"If I would’ve taken Hannah to sea and something catastrophic happened and I needed her to do her job as a crew member, handing someone’s life…she couldn’t do that because she was high…".

Nevertheless, Hannah didn’t leave the show silently. She tweeted the same photo shown to Captain Sandy. Sarcastically complimenting Malia’s "arranging skills", Hannah justified each item in the photo as either prescribed, legal or irrelevant to her position onboard. She even posted a close-up image of the label on the box of Valium tablets to prove that it was for medicinal purposes.

Shortly after the long-time chief Stewardess’ stint ended, Hannah and her then-boyfriend, the author Josh Roberts, welcomed their first child into the world. Their daughter Ava Grace Roberts was born on October 26, 2020.

Children were something that Hannah had always wanted, according to Metro.co.uk, with Captain Sandy even suggesting the same.

"She wanted kids. She did not want to do this job. She hated the job, but she kept coming back for the money."

The first-time parents announced their engagement the following November. After nearly four years of dating, they held their wedding ceremony in Sydney, Australia in 2022.

Hannah and Josh got together after wrapping Season 4 of Below Deck, starting their romance with a glass of wine one night and dinner the next, Hannah revealed during the ceremony.

In June 2022, Hannah announced her return to the world of reality TV via her social media channels. The former Below Deck stewardess posted on her Instagram that she would be joining the Network 10 dating show, The Real Love Boat Australia as the cruise director.

"Hey guys!!! I am bursting with excitement to share with you that I will be back on your screens soon!!"

The program premiered its first episode in early October 2022.

The dating show is based on the ABC romantic comedy-drama The Love Boat, which ran for 10 seasons between 1977 and 1987. Passengers onboard the charter will be watched every step of the way by Hannah as she helps them find their perfect match.

In an Instagram post in January of this year, Hannah wanted to know what her 867 thousand followers had planned for the year ahead. She also expressed her own reflections on 2022, which she described as a “massive” year.

Hannah posted an Instagram photo looking gorgeous in glam makeup and a flower-printed, double-breasted suit.

"2022 was a massive year for me. I married my gorgeous partner, filmed The Real Love Boat, AND hit my goal weight halfway through the year!"

In the same post, Hannah also shared the struggles of losing baby weight, appealing to many of her female followers. This led to her decision to dedicate some time to herself after spending the first year of her daughter’s life just trying to fit sleep in when she could!
