Viewers were introduced to Scott Disick when the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians made its small screen debut back in 2007. He was Kourtney Kardashian's boyfriend and had a bad boy persona to boot. Their tumultuous relationship was chronicled on the show, and the now-exes dated on and off from 2005 to 2015 before they called it quits for good. Despite not being together these days, Scott has been a permanent fixture in the Kardashian-Jenner's lives, as he and Kourtney share three kids together.
There were rumors circulating that Scott Disick had been excommunicated by the family when Kourtney married Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. So, have the Kardashians cut out Scott completely?
Well, according to the matriarch, Kris Jenner, they have not. Momma Kardashian took to social media to refute the claims and expressed that they love Scott—he's still very much a special part of their family.
Scott Was Caught Badmouthing Kourtney
If the private message leaked by Kourtney's other ex, Younes Bendjima, is anything to go by, Kourtney and Travis' relationship didn't sit well with Scott in the beginning. The reality star allegedly slid into Younes' DMs in an attempt to badmouth Kourtney.
He was referencing a picture of Kourtney and Travis making out on a boat while they were vacationing in Italy.
Per Radar Online, the message read, "Yo is this chick ok|!???? Broooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy."
However, Bendjima wasn't having it and wasn't about to engage in petty gossip with Disick. He responded, "Doesn't matter to me as long as she's happy. PS: i ain't your bro."
When Bendjima shared the exchange on his Instagram story, he captioned it with, "keep the same energy you had about me publicly, privately."
Neither Kourtney nor Scott commented on the leaked DM at the time, but Travis allegedly liked a post shared by someone concerning the infamous DM posted by Younes.
Scott Admitted He Felt Left Out
Scott and Kourtney haven't been together for years, but he's pretty much remained a part of the family since the breakup. However, in light of the leaked message, Disick may have alienated himself from the clan.
He is no longer getting invited to family events! Kourtney wasn't pleased with Scott's sneaky DMs. Despite the revelation that he'd messaged her to apologize, their relationship is still seemingly strained.
Per US Weekly, during an episode of The Kardashians, the Talentless founder confided in Khloé. He expressed how the family's decision not to invite him to family events made him feel.
He said, "Feeling left out and not being told anything is super hurtful — especially when I don't have another family to go to." He added," I'd rather be around them and be around my family than not at all."
Scott is an only child, and he lost his parents when his mom passed away in 2013 and his dad passed in 2014. He had the Kardashian-Jenners during that difficult time of his life and considers them family.
But it seems Kourtney has had enough, she told her sisters, "For so many years Scott has gotten away with bad behavior and has still been invited, and I don’t think that is going to continue."
According To Kris, The Kardashians Love Scott
It seems that not all the Kardashian-Jenners are done with Scott, though, mama Jenner most certainly isn't. Over the years, Disick has bonded with the family and has on the face of it developed close friendships with Kourtney's sisters, Kim and Khloé.
He and Kourtney have three children together and have co-parented surprisingly amicably all along.
According to Page Six, an insider revealed, "Ever since Kourtney got married, he doesn’t spend as much time with that whole group. He’s been kind of excommunicated because the priority is Travis." The inside further revealed, "He had to regroup who his relationships are."
There have been reports that the exes' relationship has been strained for a while, and now that Kourtney is married to someone else, that may deepen the rift. Some people think that Disick is still in love with the mother of his kids, even Khloé alluded to it on The Kardashians.
Paper Magazine posted a version of the story to their Instagram account, and Kris Jenner took the opportunity to set the record straight. She revealed, "Scott will NEVER be excommunicated from our family…. he’s the father of my grandchildren and a special part of our family… we love him and not true!"
