Heidi Klum had a big smile on her face when she stepped out in Los Angeles recently, despite being the subject of online backlash following a racy lingerie photoshoot she did alongside her 19-year-old daughter, model Leni Klum.
The veteran model was photographed arriving at the America’s Got Talent studio in a casual ensemble. Heidi paired jeans with a corset-inspired top featuring a white lace pattern. She draped a white cardigan over top of the sleeveless shirt, which matched her white pumps and oversized bag.
Fans Called Heidi And Leni’s Lingerie Photoshoot Inappropriate
Heidi may have been all smiles for the camera, but she’s been facing backlash since sharing images from a lingerie ad for Intimissi in May with her daughter, Leni, who’s following in her footsteps as a rising supermodel. In the photos, Heidi is dressed in a purple floral underwear set, while her daughter was styled in a white bra and matching underwear. The two posed together in various images, even holding hands in some of the snapshots.
However, after sharing these images on her social media, Heidi faced a divisive response from her followers. Some deemed the photos uncomfortable and inappropriate, while others thought the shoot was a testament to Heidi and Leni’s close relationship.
Both Heidi And Leni Have Defended The Controversial Images
Though it’s been months since the lingerie photoshoot images were made public, Heidi only recently spoke up to defend herself and her relationship with Leni against the backlash.
“It's been fun to shoot together,” Heidi told Daily Mail. “To do photoshoots together with her and just to see how she's just very comfortable and also comfortable around me even when we're doing underwear shoots or something like that.”
“It makes me proud that my daughter is super comfortable in her skin also in front of me and around me because not every kid is in the world,” Heidi continued. “So, I love that we have this beautiful relationship,” she added.
Alongside Leni, whose biological father is 73-year-old billionaire Flavio Briatore, Heidi is also the mother of three other children: 17-year-old Henry, 16-year-old Johan, and 13-year-old Lou, from her previous marriage to Seal. The pair got together prior to Leni’s birth, which Seal was present for. He later received permission from Flavio to legally adopt Leni as his own daughter.
Leni has also spoken up in defense of the controversial photoshoot, telling Page Six, “I honestly didn’t look at a lot of the reactions. I am overall happy with the campaign and I had an amazing day with my mom. I think the photos turned out great, and we had an amazing time.”
The influencer further explained that she avoids looking at comments on her social media in order to escape negativity. “I just don’t look at it, honestly,” Leni went on. “If I don’t look at it, I don’t have to pay any attention to it, so I just don’t know what is there.”
