Liv Lo and Henry Golding dated long-distance after they met for the first time. The couple met in 2011 at a club and Lo made it clear that she was romantically interested in him.
According to Pure Wow, Golding appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan and explained, “We were in a club on New Year's Eve and I saw her from afar and she was this wildcat. Halfway through the night...she steps in my way and she says, 'Why haven't you said hello to me yet? I'm leaving tomorrow and you're never going to see me again—what are you going to do about it?'”
After having brunch the following morning, they went back to the places that they lived: Golding lived in Singapore and Lo lived in Tokyo, so they were long distance at first.

In November 2020, Liv Lo posted a photo on her Instagram account of her and Golding to announce that they were expecting a baby. She looked beautiful and Golding had a huge grin on his face. In the caption, Lo wrote, "Such immense joy this little one has brought us already. Now we get to share it with you. We love you!"
At the end of March 2021, Lo shared that she had the baby, and according to Us Weekly, Golding posted on his own Instagram and had such a sweet message for his wife. Golding wrote, “This woman right here. Beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Your strength brought us our greatest joy. Thank you, I love you."
