It's here! Olivia Rodrigo's fiery revenge single has a smoking new video to match.
The 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' breakout star dropped it last night and already her fandom is comparing it to cult classic movie scenes and streaming it more than 12 million times.
If you haven't seen it yet, check out 'good 4 u' right here:
The video is directed by Canadian visual artist Petra Collins. Here's what she had to say about working with Olivia, plus some shots from behind the scenes of this one-of-a-kind vid:
They Brought Out a Fire Hose
In this clip posted to Petra's IG, you can hear the director screaming in support of Olivia while she films the song's bridge in a burning bedroom. If anybody wondered if that fire was real, here's their proof.
At one point in Petra's clip you can even see the fire catching from the curtains to a poster on the wall of the bedroom set, at which point safety crew puts a stop to the shoot so they can spray it back with a fire hose. Another safety crew member helps Olivia step out of the scene while they take care of the burning room that Petra says "looks so pretty."
The Director Called Her An Angel
In a post praising Olivia for the work they created together, director Petra had some choice words for Ms. Rodrigo. She said she was "an angel and the most insane presence of an icon," throwing in an ice cube, butterfly, and fire emoji for good measure.
She also confirmed the 'Jennifer's Body' connection. In Petra's IG Stories today she gave a sneaky nod to anyone thinking Olivia in her video looked like Megan Fox's character in 'Jennifer's Body,' sharing a side by side of similar shots along with a smug side-eye emoji.
The Stylist Called Her a Star
Olivia's stylist and social media influencer pal Devon Carlson (sister of fellow YouTuber Sydney Carlson) posted a bunch more BTS pics to her own socials this morning.
They show on-set moments like that first pic, that shows a peek at the mood board used to create Olivia's outfit vibes. Look closely to see outfit inspo from Kristen Dunst in 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' and Rebecca Gayheart in 'Jawbreaker.' References, baby!
