Ed Sheeran has come a long way from his humble beginnings as a starving artist. He is not only a record-breaking singer/songwriter, the artist is also venturing into acting. Nonetheless, when he first started recording music, Sheeran did not have any money. Now that he is selling out music venues worldwide, Sheeran has earned a fortune. The artist has not wasted his wealth on superficial luxuries, he has made numerous investments in real estate.
Ed Sheeran rose from a homeless artist to a wealthy international star. Although he is one of the richest musicians in the industry, Sheeran has not forgotten the sacrifices he made to break into the music scene. According to the New Zealand Herald, Sheeran did not have a roof over his head for the first few years of his career. He explained, "I didn't have anywhere to live for much of 2008 and the whole of 2009 and 2010, but somehow I made it work...I knew who I could call at any time to get a floor to sleep on. Being sociable helped. Drinking helped." Sheeran managed to stay positive when he did not even have a roof over his head.
According to the New Zealand Herald, Ed Sheeran even figured out that he could take naps on early morning train routes. He revealed, "I spent a week catching up on sleep on Circle Line trains. I'd go out and play a gig, wait until 5am when the Underground opened, sleep on the Circle Line until 12, go to a session - and then repeat." Sheeran couldn't always count on crashing at a friend's house, so he had to get creative. He still managed to avoid sleeping outdoors by sleeping on trains after late night performances.
Once Ed Sheeran made his fortune, he invested his money wisely. The artist has acquired an entire real estate portfolio. At the top of the list is a massive estate. The construction, often referred to as "Sheeranville," includes several houses and buildings, including a pub.
The Irish Sun reports Sheeran's estate has: "been described as a millionaire’s playground with a huge modern detached farmhouse as the main estate. It includes a billiards room and an additional 'man cave' complete with recording studio and a jacuzzi." Sheeranville is the main residence where the musician lives with his wife. Sheeran spared no expense for the home where he would spend most of his time.
In addition to massive estate, Sheeran has purchased over 20 other properties. The Irish Sun reports on Ed Sheeran's £10million real estate shopping spree. Sheeran bought the properties as investments. The Irish Sun says his London properties now equal 22, the majority of which he rents out. Although Sheeran owns a great deal of real estate, most of the properties are commercial rentals.
Ed Sheeran is a talented songwriter, and he has recently become a real estate mogul on the side.
