It’s somewhat hard to believe that Lindsay Lohan, who was once the highest-paid actress in Hollywood, now only has a net worth of $800,000 — and that’s even though she’s starred in a handful of blockbuster movies, including Herbie: Fully Loaded and, of course, 2004’s Mean Girls.

While it’s no secret that the actress-singer has made a lot of bad financial decisions over the years, it’s still sad to see that a Hollywood star that was once pulling upward of $7 million at the height of her career doesn’t really have much to show for it now.

Mean Girls remains one of LiLo’s most popular films to date. Still, fans might be surprised to hear that she only earned $1 million to play the role of Cady Heron in the comedy flick, which co-starred the likes of Tina Fey, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Amy Poehler.

How Much Money Did Lindsay Lohan Make In ‘Mean Girls’?

It’s been reported that Lohan earned a cool $1 million for the film, which isn’t a lot considering that the film ended up being an enormous box office hit. Still, it should be noted that the success of Mean Girls did open the doors for her to find more lucrative roles the following year.

In less than 12 months, Lohan had now received offers worth $7.5 million when she signed on to star as Maggie Peyton in 2005’s Herbie: Fully Loaded, which was quite the salary spike from what she had earned prior.

The following year, the Rumors singer proved she was a force to be reckoned with when she signed another $7.5 million deal to appear in 2006’s Just My Luck alongside her co-star, Chris Pine.

The movie wasn’t that much of a hit as her previous work, only pulling in $38 million at the worldwide box office, but that didn’t stop Lohan from making some serious money from the film regardless.

Before things started to derail for her, her final film was 2007’s Georgia Rule, which saw Lohan earn an astounding $8 million. It was the highest salary in her career, and ultimately gave fans the impression that the 34-year-old had become unstoppable in the film industry.

Regardless of whether the movies were a hit or not, casting directors were eager to work with the actress, convinced that only she could deliver particular roles — particularly those centered around comedic narratives.

In 2013, after years of bad press for her arrests, DUIs, and bad behavior, Lindsay had undoubtedly been blackballed from Hollywood, yet Oprah Winfrey was still willing to give her a platform to share her story on the OWN network.

Winfrey announced she had ordered an eight-part mini-series that would document the actress’ troubled life as she attempted to get her career back on track, but the cost to follow Lohan’s everyday life didn’t come cheap, as the billionaire agreed to pay her a whopping $2 million for the show.

But that wasn’t all: her contract also stated that Lohan would receive a stylist, two full-time assistants, and cameo appearances for the rest of her family, which made it seem as if Winfrey was going above and beyond to meet the actress’ demands.

Before moving ahead with the docu-series, Winfrey said she had to have a one-on-chat with the actress to make sure she was serious about the project as there was much doubt that she would even show up and take the show seriously.

After all, Winfrey was only doing it to help show the world that Lohan was a changed person.

“She said she wants to do it,” the TV mogul explained to Access Hollywood. “So let’s get to it. So I had that conversation. I went to her house just to say, ‘What are you doing? Let’s get real here.’

“And… ‘This is what’s conflicting about it.’ Because it’s television and we stand to gain if it does well. But the real truth is – and anybody who knows me, certainly my producers on the way there – Sheri Salata was in the car – I said, ‘If I get here and Lindsay isn’t serious, I will shut this thing down today.’”

While there were high hopes for Lohan’s career after the series had aired on OWN, it didn’t seem as if there was much of a noticeable change aside from the fact that she landed her own MTV reality show, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, in March 2019, which lasted for just one series.
