Tinsley Mortimer seemed like a flawless fit on The Real Housewives of New York City. She already knew Sonja Morgan, which made her transition onto the show really smooth and seamless, and she once traveled in socialite circles, which made viewers interested in seeing more of her.

Tinsley has a $35 million net worth and when she left RHONY, it was so she could move to Chicago and marry Scott Kluth. But Tinsley and Scott's relationship fell apart and fans wonder what happened.

How do fans of The Real Housewives of New York City really feel about Tinsley Mortimer? Let's take a look.

Tinsley Mortimer

There has been some talk that maybe Tinsley Mortimer would make a RHONY return. Radar Online said there was a "serious conversation" but OK! reported that a Bravo rep said "These are all rumors, and there is no truth to this." RHONY fans want Bethenny Frankel back on the show, but no one is sure if that will happen.

A fan of the reality series started a Reddit thread asking about fan opinion of Tinsley Mortimer. They mentioned her main storyline on the show (that she wanted to get married and start a family) and the fan explained, "I WANT to like her, because I think she’s a sweet girl, but I think she just acts too immature/childlike for a 44-year-old woman. Not that there is anything wrong with childlike, but she just doesn’t fit with the other women!"

It seems like fan opinion is pretty divided on Tinsley. While some like her and think she works well on the show, with one fan writing "I also think she's a great, unique character -- different from everyone else not just on her own show, but within the larger Housewives universe, too," others aren't so sure.

A fan of the show said that they think she hasn't had to do that much on her own so that is why she comes across the way that she does: they explained, "She is very childlike and comes across as so naive. I think her mother’s influence is heavy and far-reaching and she was never allowed to grow up."

Tinsley's Background

A fan replied in the same Reddit thread that Tinsley was a popular socialite for a long time and so it's possible that her co-stars were envious of her because of it. They wrote, "I think the thing viewers truly don't understand about Tinsley is that in the early aughts she was the queen of New York society. The rest of these women except for maybe Dorinda when she was married to Richard would have murdered someone just to be part of Tinsley's circle. There's a lot of sublimated jealousy coming off of the other women, including Bethenny, when it comes to Tinsley."

Another fan started a new Reddit thread called "Tinsley in her heyday" and explained more about her days as a socialite. They mentioned that she and Topper, who she dated in high school, got married young and that people thought of her as a perfect person on the party scene in New York City. The fan said that because of her divorce and arrest in Palm Beach, which fans learned about the show, it seemed like her star had fallen a bit.

According to Page Six, Tinsley was arrested in 2016 for trespassing on the property of her boyfriend at the time, Nico Fanjul. She said that he was with someone else inside the house and she was really upset about it.

While many cast members on the Real Housewives franchise show their life at home with their children and partners, since Tinsley was single for some of her time on RHONY (besides her relationship with Scott), fans got to see her spend a lot of time with her mom Dale.

These seem to be the scenes that fans are referring to when they talk about their opinion of Tinsley. She froze her eggs in one episode, and also went to try on wedding dresses with her mom. It seemed like their conversations were mainly about Tinsley finding a husband and having kids, and it definitely would have been good to see Tinsley talk about something else.

Tinsley said that she was "proud" that she quit RHONY and the reality star said on the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast, “I was really taking a leap of faith and really trying to trust my gut and follow my heart. When I see myself driving off, I am proud of myself for doing it.”
