During an exclusive appearance on Teen Vogue’s YouTube, the OG leading ladies said a sentimental goodbye to their PLL characters while reflecting on their journeys. While some claimed that they would miss their “eclectic style choices” the most, others detailed specific personality traits such as their character’s “dry sense of humor”.

Saying goodbye to their characters wasn’t the only farewell that the OG cast had to bid when PLL came to an end. As the world of liars geared up to make a return, all eyes were on the OG pretty little liars for their opinions about how the reboot made them feel. Whilst speaking to Extra TV on the red carpet of the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin premiere, OG cast member Lucy Hale opened up about her feelings towards the reboot. The 33-year-old actress highlighted how the return of the show and her appearance on the red carpet made her feel like she was living through a “full circle moment” and how it had prompted her to reflect on her time on the original show.

As Hale continued to describe the new show and detail her opinions on it, she went on to focus on how the new show compared to the original. She hinted at some similarities while still shining light on the new take that the showrunners had given the spin-off.

Hale stated, “There are so many parts of it where the original fans will grasp on to, but there is a new take on it.” Adding, “They really hone in on the slasher horror thing, and it’s a little nostalgic. The acting is great, the writing is great, and it’s just really fun, but there’s enough newness that it feels fresh.”

While some may have initially predicted some tension pitting up the OG cast against the new cast, OG PLL ladies Hale and Shay Mitchell ensured audiences that they had nothing but love and support for the reboot and the next generation of liars. Shortly after the announcement of the reboot’s casting of ex-Disney star Bailee Madison, Hale and Mitchell showed their love for the actress on Instagram by commenting sweet words of support under Madison’s announcement post. While Hale focused on her love for the actress, Mitchell opted for a short and sweet message of, “Congrats babe!”.

During PLL’s run on the air, many fans of the original series became used to the show’s leading ladies' close bonds both on-screen and off-screen. Not only have the OG PLL cast members shown fans that they support the new cast and the reboot, but the PPL: Original Sin cast members have also spoken up about how loved and supported they had felt by the OG ladies. During an interview with ET, the new show’s leading lady, Madison, opened up about how grateful she had been for the OG cast and the love that they had shown the revival.

Madison stated, “I remember being so nervous about the announcement, and all the beautiful ladies sent their love to me, and I know they’re all really excited for us and excited to see what we get to do with the show.” Before then adding, “On behalf of all of us, that support and blessing means the absolute world.”
