"I'm seeing the comment a lot that people are saying that Tyler gave me an ultimatum," Catelynn explained in a September 2024 Instagram video. "Either my baby or him. First off, that comment is absolutely disgusting on so many levels."
The way the 16 and Pregnant star believed these types of comments "strips me of all of the strength and sorrow that it took me as a birth mom to place my child."

Why Jenelle Evans Is Not Returning To The Teen Mom Franchise
During a December 2024 TikTok Live, uploaded on the TeenMomChatter Instagram page, Jenelle Evans confirmed that “MTV has decided not to use for [her] for this season."

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter | Season 2 (Guest) |
There were rumors that MTV let Jenelle go after her storyline lacked interest. The reality show allegedly wanted to show Jenelle starting over after her split from David Eason. Instead, she quickly started a new relationship after moving to Las Vegas.
She returned to the Teen Mom franchise in June 2024's episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter after being fired in May 2019 from Teen Mom.
- Per Collider, she was fired in 2019 after she and her ex, David, were accused of shooting and killing their dog.
- David had been fired the year prior due to making homophobic remarks on social media.
Jenelle was asked to return to the Teen Mom franchise for Season 2 of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. However, in a press release reported by Distractify, MTV stated that she wasn't added to the season as a full-time cast member and was only set to make a "special appearance" in season 2.
Why Jenelle Evans Believes Amber Portwood Should Not Be On Teen Mom: The Next Chapter
Jenelle Evans may not be appearing in the upcoming series of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, but she had opinions on those who did.
Although she has refuted rumors that she was fired from the show, saying she was “not allowed to” talk about why she was booted, she recently admitted to feeling bitter that Amber Portwood was included, according to Collider.
“I came a long way, she has not!” Jenelle said about Amber, before admitting she was unsure why Amber was allowed to film when she does not have custody of her children.
Amber shares her daughter Leah with Gary, but currently has no relationship with the 16-year-old. She also shares her son, James, with her ex Andrew Glennon, and is actively in his life though long-distance.
What I don’t understand– well I do understand— but what I was going to say is I don’t understand why she’s on [the show] and she doesn’t have custody of any of her kids. Like, not one kid you can film.
Jenelle claimed that she is “easier to work with” than Amber, and then suggested that Kristina Shirley, who is the stepmom of Amber’s daughter Leah, should appear on the MTV show instead.
Her advice to Amber Portwood? “She needs to chill. She needs to think before she speaks, and she needs to choose her words wisely."
It's not just Amber of whom Jenelle has opinions. Jenelle was happy to open up about all her former co-stars. “[Maci], never reached out. She keeps to herself,” Jenelle explained in the live feed.
“I feel like the only people Maci cares about are the girls she was originally on the show with: Amber, Catelynn, and Maci. They stick together, they talk to each other, they visit each other– only because it’s forced. But they want nothing to do with the rest of us girls.”
Teen Mom: The Next Chapter returns on MTV on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.
