Throughout the history of reality TV, there have been a lot of villains that became hated and famous. With that in mind, House of Villains is a brilliant idea for a show since players like Tiffany "New York" Pollard have a long history of entertaining people and Teresa Giudice fans love her unhinged antics. With all that in mind and the fact that one House of Villains star was hated by a legend, it makes sense that the show has had some must-see episodes.
Despite everything that is great about House of Villains, the show definitely isn't perfect. In fact, House of Villains fans pointed out that the show has a major problem that ruins it and needs to change immediately.
Why House Of Villains Fans Think The Ending Is The Worst Part Of The Show
In many ways, it could be argued that House of Villains is the ultimate reality show. After all, a lot of people watch reality shows to see the drama. With that in mind, a reality show that brings together the biggest villains from reality show history is brilliant.
The show's first season featured villains like Omarosa Manigault Newman, Jonny Fairplay, Corinne Olympios, and Shake Chatterjee. The second season brought together Richard Hatch, Teresa Giudice, Jessie Godderz, Larsa Pippen, and Safaree. If that wasn't enough, the first two seasons both featured Tiffany "New York" Pollard.
Despite how impressive the House of Villains casts have been so far, the show has one huge flaw. As some House of Villains fans have pointed out, the ending fails the show's concept.
During House of Villains, the season's cast is brought together to live in a house. Then, cast members are eliminated one at a time.
Screen Rant's List of People Who Should Appear In House of Villains | |
---|---|
Known For | Cast Member |
American Idol, The X Factor, & America's Got Talent | Simon Cowell |
The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Celebrity Apprentice, & Dancing With The Stars | Kenya Moore |
The Bachelor | Juan Pablo Galavis |

90-Day Fiancé | Andrei Castravet |
Big Brother & The Traitors | Rachel Reilly |
Vanderpump Rules | Tom Sandoval |
RuPaul’s Drag Race | Gia Gunn |
Survivor | Russell Hantz |

Similar to the show Big Brother, someone gets the ability to nominate two cast members for elimination. A vote is then held and one of the two villains is eliminated from the game.

Tiffany “New York” Pollard's Most Unhinged TV Moments That Make Her Great On House of Villains
As Tiffany "New York" Pollard returns to our screens in House of Villains, here are some of the reality TV moments that make us love her!
Up until this part of the description, everything seems relatively fine. While House of Villains' producers weren't very creative when they came up with how players are eliminated, it works since it does allow the villains to turn on each other.
House of Villains is produced by John Irwin's Irwin Entertainment. According to Irwin Entertainment's website, the company has produced many comedy specials and reality shows like Celebrity Rehab and Couples Therapy. On the other hand, Irwin Entertainment doesn't appear to be very experienced at producing a reality competition show like House of Villains.
However, it is at the end of each season that things fall apart. Once most of the players have been eliminated, they are brought back and get to vote to decide who gets to win the season. To put it more succinctly, a show called House of Villains ends with a popularity contest.
In February 2024, a fan on the r/HouseOfVillains subreddit posted about how bad it is that House of Villains ends with a popularity contest.
As of November 2024, the post on the r/HouseOfVillains subreddit that calls out how the show ends was one of the most-upvoted posts in the subreddit's history.
The fan titled their post, "I can't be the only one who thought that ending was f****** terrible?" In the body of their post, the fan wrote about why they believe the ending of House of Villains ruins the show.
"Did all that s*** throughout the game just to have everybody eliminated vote the winner in a show called house of villains lol they couldn't of been more lazy with that ending. it was pretty much who can make the most friends in the house and win a popular contest at the end, the ending ruined it for me."
Looking at the post on the subreddit, it is easy to see why the original poster has a point. Since fans want to see the House of Villains cast be dramatic and stab each other in the back, having the season end in a popularity contest seems foolish.

Teresa Giudice Recreated This Iconic Moment For House Of Villains Season 2
Season 2 of House of Villains is off to a great start, especially since Teresa Giudice gave a nod to Real Housewives of New Jersey fans in the promos.
One of the top most-upvoted responses to the Reddit post began by explaining why the vote on the winner should have been expected. "These jury votes are very common in these shows where you vote people out systematically (Big Brother, Survivor, etc.) so it does feel like the logical extension usually."
One of the most interesting responses to the Reddit thread argued why they believed House of Villains had such a bad ending. That fan suggested that House of Villains' producers didn't put that much work into the show since they thought it would fail. "It really felt like they didn’t know how successful this show would be and threw the whole season together kinda cheaply and half a**."
However, the fan agreed with the sentiment that a popularity contest ending doesn't fit House of Villains.
I definitely agree that it doesn't quite fit on a show where the point is to be the biggest villain.
To further prove why the format for House of Villains needs to be seriously tweaked, all fans have to do is look at the fate of Richard Hatch. During House of Villains, Richard notably seemed to be okay with fighting with his castmate Tiffany "New York" Pollard.
Unfortunately for Richard, since the show is formatted like a popularity contest, even the few small arguments he got in resulted in him getting voted out. After Richard left the game, he spoke to People about how he saw the game differently than his castmates.
“I'm not there to make buddies and not have conflict. I don't care. Let's have some conflict. I'm fine with all of it. I want to win.”
It seems pretty clear that a show called House of Villains shouldn't be so tame that even having a few small conflicts dooms your game.
How Should House Of Villains' Ending Be Changed?
Around the same time that House of Villains premiered, reality show fans were also introduced to The Traitors. Arguably the most successful new reality show franchise in many years, The Traitors has such a compelling ending that House of Villains fans think that show should emulate it.

Former Real Housewives Stars Dish For Vice's 'Dark Side Of Reality TV'
One outspoken former housewife said Bravo stardom was like "a deal with the devil."
At the end of each season of The Traitors, the remaining players get to decide if they want to keep voting each other out. This process can continue until there are only two players left. The remaining players then get to share the grand prize. However, if at least one of the remaining players is a traitor, then only the traitors get the money.
During the first season of The Traitors US, Cirie Fields, Andie Vanacore, and Quentin Jiles all made it to the end. While Andie and Quentin thought they were going to split the money three ways, Cirie got it all because she was one of the traitors. That left Andie and Quentin feeling utterly betrayed.
That level of heartbreak, betrayal, and drama seems like the kind of thing that House of Villains fans should expect from that show's ending. As a result, it makes sense that many of the responses to the Reddit post about how terrible the House of Villains ending is suggest the show needs to finish like The Traitors.
One of the top most-upvoted responses to the Reddit post suggested that House of Villains should recreate The Traitors Australia's finale dynamic.
"Here's my pitch: Traitors Australia does something at the end of the game where the remaining traitors play "share or steal." This could work with a final 3 or final 2 in HoV. Basically, if everyone chooses to share, they split the money. If one person chooses to steal, they alone win the money. If both/all choose to steal, nobody wins the money. So you're trying to outsmart and manipulate the other person into letting their guard down for you to steal the money."
Of course, House of Villains' doesn't have to adopt that ending exactly. That said, it does seem very clear that for House of Villains to last in the long term, its ending really needs to change dramatically.
