Few TV shows have had such a significant impact on modern culture as 'That '70s Show.' Sure, it spanned countless seasons (and years), just like other sitcoms. But the blend of comedy and 'life lessons' really engaged fans. The funny and relatable characters helped, too, especially as the stars grew into their roles as well as other projects outside 'That '70s Show.'

Long before accusations came out against Danny Masterson, he was a beloved character on 'That '70s Show.' The sitcom allowed him to amass an impressive net worth, although the arrest and allegations have since impacted his worth in significant ways.

The show also led to Danny's friendship with Ashton Kutcher, although their relationship has undoubtedly changed since the show wrapped. Fans of the show may be curious as to how Danny landed his gig on the sitcom in the first place, though.

As many sources like to point out, Danny was a bit older than the rest of the cast. The idea was that they all had to be 18 to audition, but Danny was about 22 at the time. At first, the casting director didn't want to let him audition.

After all, the part was meant to be for a high schooler. But as Celebrity Net Worth recapped, Masterson waltzed into the audition and impressed everyone on set. For one thing, his audition was "hilarious," said the staff, and that set the gears turning.

Instead of creating a new role for Masterson, the production staff rewrote the character of Hyde to fit the way Danny acted him out.

Even though Masterson has encountered plenty of drama in the years since 'That '70s Show' wrapped, fans are still nostalgic for his hilarious moments on the show. Unfortunately for fans -- and the rest of the cast -- Masterson is now facing formal charges, with his case starting in early 2021.

It's no doubt a challenging time for the actor and his family, plus his fellow cast members. No one knows for sure what the details are or what truly happened years ago with Danny and the alleged victims.

All fans know is that in many ways, the realization about Danny's behavior has forever marred the way they'll see his character on 'That '70s Show.' Fortunately, fans do have their fond memories of the sitcom, even if it turns out that Masterson is in fact guilty.

Fortunately for the rest of the cast, Masterson hasn't exactly cast a shadow on their fame. Mila and Ashton found love of course, so that's one happy years-later side effect of the show.

As for the rest of the cast, they may not have had as memorable auditions as Danny. But the time they spent together on set is likely still a fond memory to this day.
