David Letterman had more than a few classic interviews on his 'Late Show'. Whether he was bashing Donald Trump to his face, or getting ripped by Chris Rock about his marriage, the interviews were always must-watch television. Another great interview was alongside Johnny Depp. Nowadays, fans are looking at everything Depp related from his past. His time on the 'Late Show' was always memorable. What Happened Between David Letterman And Johnny Depp?
Things were very different for Johnny Depp during his appearances on the 'Late Show' back in the 2010s. There was no dispute in the media about his personal life and relationship to Amber Heard. Instead, it was nothing but humor, as Depp was actually discussing the ring he had bought for Heard on the show... oh how times changed.
As Johnny revealed, the ring was too big for Heard, so he decided to wear it himself.
"I have a female engagement ring. I was too big for my girl Amber, she's wearing the other one."
“The ring is too large for her, but it fits you perfectly,” commented Letterman.
“I think people are too scared to comment, ‘Why is a grown man wearing a woman’s engagement ring?'” joked Depp.
It was a lot of different circumstances back then, Depp had quite the sense of humor when appearing on the show alongside Letterman.
It seems like he's slowly getting back to the place, especially given his responses to some of the antics going on in court. Johnny is a man with a great sense of humor, and that was evident during his many times along Dave. Let's take a look how the star would troll Letterman during his many appearances.
Johnny Depp Would Never Know What Clip David Letterman Was Showing
"Let's show them a clip here Johnny. Public Enemies opens July 1st, and what are we gonna see?" Depp would respond by saying, "Umm... I don't know."
This became a constant theme for Depp, trolling around with Letterman every single time it was time for the actor to explain or hype up a scene from the film he was promoting.
"What is the clip here Johnny," Letterman would state, "I have no idea," Johnny responds. Letterman would lose it a bit from time to time, saying "oh for God sake," which just added to the laughter.
Depp never took himself too seriously and that would continue during certain Late Show segments. Letterman would state "This is beautiful, this looks like a old fashion I don't know, sloop? Is it a sloop or something? Is it a yacht?"
Hilariously, Depp would look at the picture and state, "I really don't know... it's just a boat." the audience completely ate up the response.
Depp would also state that he would never read screen direction, nor did he watch the films he would appear in, again, Letterman would be stunned my these answers, and it was all in good fun.
He created so many memorable moments on the show, and it is clear, fans loved every bit of it.
