She also starred in the popular TV series American Horror Story for a duration of two seasons, taking on the roles of a cunning vampire and an evil English witch.
When discussing how she landed the role in A Star Is Born, Gaga explained that the director of the film and actor Bradley Cooper directly asked her to do it after watching her perform at a live event.
To land her role in American Horror Story, Gaga simply rang up the creator of AHS, Ryan Murphy, and directly asked him “Ryan, I wanna be on American Horror Story”. The singer became heavily invested in her role as Patrizia Reggiani, speaking with an Italian accent for over nine months without breaking character. Gaga reportedly earned $10 million dollars for her lead role as Ally in A Star Is Born.
In comparison, her co-star, Bradley Cooper, reportedly cashed in approximately $40 million from the film. However, as the project was a passion project for Cooper, he declined an upfront salary for the film, meaning that he actually risked earning nothing if the movie completely failed.
