Love it or hate it, The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular shows of its era. The show, which dominated the small screen for years, had amazing guest stars, hilarious moments, and it set up its lead stars financially, allowing them to pursue whatever they would like following the show's end.

Melissa Rauch played Bernadette on the show, and her character's marriage to Howard was a major moment in the show's history.

Some people are on the fence about their union, but Rauch has made her thoughts on the couple perfectly known.

Let's hear what she had to say about it!

In the quirky universe of The Big Bang Theory, where intellect and nerdy humor reign supreme, a love story for the ages unfolded between two unforgettable characters, Bernadette and Howard.

Bernadette Rostenkowski, portrayed by Melissa Rauch, entered the show during its third season as a microbiologist. Howard Wolowitz, played by Simon Helberg, had an insatiable appetite for a romantic partner. Fate intervened and, thanks to the magical workings of fate, the couple was introduced on a blind date. Little did they know that this meeting would be the catalyst for an extraordinary love story.

Over the course of the show, these two would embark on a romance that had people talking.

After a whirlwind courtship, Bernadette and Howard's relationship blossomed into marriage in the fifth season. Their wedding episode titled "The Countdown Reflection" showcased the sentimental side of the couple, with Howard's romantic surprise proposal taking place before he departed for space.

Rauch herself, who was no guarantee to even stick around for the long run on the show, has opened up about how she actually felt about the duo's nuptials.

According to Rauch, "Something that also I find that's so great about their relationship and how the writers write them is that you see the love between them and I mean the episode where Howard finds the letter from his father, I read that episode and was crying on my couch. I just thought that was so beautifully written."

"She's as invested in the situation as he is, which again, I think it's very true to marriage that it's you and your spouse against the world and I think that episode really exemplifies that," she added.

While speaking with Today, Rauch dished on the couple's wedding, and feeling overcome with emotion during filming.

"I just remember standing up there with Simon and looking at the cast and being so overcome with emotion."

As previously stated, Rauch wasn't intended to be around for the long haul, and her ability to stay on the show was not lost on her.

"I was just supposed to be there for a one time guest star but some of those special episodes where I'm standing there and looking at the cast and it almost feels like a dream where I'm looking at everyone, and I'm like I can't believe that this is my job," she continued.

It's pretty special to hear about Rauch's feelings during one of the biggest moments in the show's history.

While Rauch loved it, some people had opposing opinions.

As one user on Reddit wrote, "One of the eps I just saw was about gossip, and we found out Bernadette was just about to possibly break up with Howard before he proposed. A lot of tv women stereotypes love marriage and kids more than anything so what if she just likes the idea of marriage? The rest I know about her and Howard is all her screaming which is supposed to be funny because of his mom. Doesn’t help in thinking she actually likes him."

Others in that thread shared similar opinions, with one user even pointing out that Penny, one of the show's central characters, never fails to take swings at her partners.

There were, of course, opposing opinions.

"She does. Like any couple they have their ups and downs. For the most part they are good to each other. The lows are exaggerated for comic effect. The joke with the voice is more ironic. Like it’s to say he married his mom but at the same time didn’t. Bernadette is very different. Where Howard mom wanted to coddle and take care of him, Bernadette wants him to be self sufficient and take care of himself," one user responded.
