There is no denying that the Kardashian clan has built an empire since bursting onto our screens in 2007, with fans regularly tuning in from every corner of the globe to grab a slice of the family-filled dramas ranging from whirlwind romances to fiery family feuds. However, it's thanks to the family's reality TV success that each family member has been able to build the business of their dreams, with millions of adoring fans eagerly waiting at any given moment to try their latest products.

While 'mom-manager' Kris Jenner takes a ten percent cut of her children's business deals and overall earnings, the girls still manage to make a wild amount of money. Khloe created her own fashion brand Good American; Kourtney created her lifestyle publication called Poosh; Kylie created Kylie Cosmetics while Kim Kardashian has created an array of other businesses, including KKW Beauty. All the Kardashian brands have been very successful in their own rights.

Kim's KKW Beauty Line Launched In 2017

Kim launched her first beauty venture KKW Beauty in 2017, just two years after the successful launch of her sister's brand, Kylie Cosmetics. She first tested the waters by collaborating with her sister for a collection named 'KKW x Kylie Collection'. It consisted of four nude lip cremes with a gloss finish in classic Kim style.

KKW Beauty created a variety of beauty products such as lipsticks, highlighters, concealers, eyeshadows, and contour kits. Overall most of the products were generally well-received, however, there were still some criticisms among consumers including complaints about international shipping or the quality of the products.

One example of this is the KKW Contour Kit, with many arguing that the amount of makeup that was in the kit was not worth the $48 price tag. Others noted that the limited shades meant that the kit would not work for women of all skin colors.

How Much Money Has Kim’s KKW Beauty Line Made?

There is no denying that many of Kim's brands have been highly successful, most likely earning the reality tv star millions of dollars a year. However, how much did Kim make off KKW Beauty exactly?

To give a quick idea of the brand's popularity, we'll give you a quick rundown of how the brand's first product performed. The first product was the Crème Contour and Highlight Kit and it sold out immediately after launch, bringing in over $14 million US dollars in sales.

According to Forbes, KKW Beauty pulled in an estimated $100 million US dollars in product sales in 2019 alone, therefore it seems highly likely that the brand earned Kim millions a year at the very least.

An attributing factor to managing to drive such high sales is of course Kim's staggering levels of fame, as well as higher than average selling prices for the industry, which she could probably get away with again due to her levels of fame. In 2020 the reality star sold a 20% stake in her company for $200 million dollars, boosting the company's valuation to $1 billion.

The most recent figure reported states that KKW Beauty has earned around $100 million US dollars in revenue to date, making it one of Kim's most valuable businesses. This is quite a sizable amount, however, Kim has plenty of advice to offer when it comes to the working world, telling fans “You have to surround yourself with people that want to work,” in a 2022 interview with Variety.

Is KKW Beauty Discontinued?

Many fans seemed to love KKW Beauty, so it's understandable that many fans are questioning why the brand suddenly disappeared last year in 2021. If you are a fan of Kim's products, then the reasoning may come as a nice surprise.

In 2021, Kim took to Instagram to announce that KKW Beauty was officially closing in order to rebrand itself and expand into new and sustainable directions. Unfortunately, that means her old products are no longer available.

In its place, Kim has now replaced KKW Beauty with SKKN, a new sustainable skincare line, with prospects of future products related to "skin care, hair care, nail care, and supplements categories, plus skin and hair tools, as well as home products' (as mentioned in the original trademark).

The skincare line features a range of nine different products, each inspired by Kim's personal skincare journey and encompassing everything that she has learned over the years from skincare professionals around her. Some products include a toner, cleanser, exfoliator, and a hyaluronic acid serum, alongside five other products that you can view on the website.

However, it looks like it's not going to be all plain sailing for the reality star. The mum of four is currently being sued for trademark infringement by a small business owner who is currently using the name and has been since 2018.
