It Was A Burden Early On In His Career

Starting in the world of comedy, Hart faced a lot of self-doubts early on. According to his words on the Lewis Howes podcast, auditions weren't coming, nor was he receiving praise for his stand-up act.

Hart learned early on that he wasn't going to please everyone and understanding that is crucial to anyone's success.

"I felt like everybody was supposed to like me. Man, I’m a nice guy. I’m a lovable, nice guy. Why wouldn’t you like me? What I found is like, look, everybody’s not gonna like you. And you can’t change that."

"You can’t control that. So, it’s my job to be happy with my intent. And what it is that I’m trying to do. That’s my job … as [I performed] at said shit-hole or said small environment, I realized that each one of those opportunities was a way for me to work on me, my craft."

Kevin started to put in the work and suddenly, he became a huge star despite his insecurities.

He Embraced It & Success Entered

Sitting down with Oprah, Hart revealed that self-deprecation was a huge part of both his act and success as a short act in Hollywood.

“I did it before they did,” he says. “Self-deprecation.”
“Anything that the person thinks that they can say, I disarm you of it by saying it myself,” Hart says.

Hart learned to embrace what he was given, and it turned out to be a huge positive for his success and confidence.

"I don’t believe in doing things to manufacture my body to appeal to what I think people might like,” Hart says.

“This is it. This is what I was given. This is my playing cards. If we were playing poker, I’ve got to make this hand work. This is it for me. And this is what I’m going to ride out. So how do you not embrace it? You get one life. One. You get one life. I’m going to embrace mine.”

Fans still ask questions about his height and in truth, one of the most frequently asked questions deals with his height compared to his wife's.

Parrish Has A Notable Height Edge

Kevin Hart isn't a fan of revealing his true height. In fact, he didn't even want to take a lie detector test to confirm his true stance.

“Absolutely not,” he blurted when asked to confirm that he’s 5’2″. Hart has tried to tell fans he's taller than most would assume... though not everyone's buying into it.

As it turns out, he might very well be 5'2. At the very most, it is believed Hart is 5'4, though that seems to be quite generous.

His wife, Eniko Parrish does have a noticeable height advantage, though fans can't help but notice the two aren't always standing directly alongside one another in IG photos. This might be done on purpose...

Nonetheless, it doesn't take a genius to realize that she does have the height advantage on her hubby, standing in at 5'6, making her significantly taller.

At least four inches in truth.
