How The Kardashians Are Changing Body Trends Again

There is no reality TV royalty quite like the Kardashians. After several successful TV shows, the family members are now social media influencers in their own right.

One trend that the women are best known for is that of exaggerated plastic surgery. Though for a while the Kardashians were proponents of curvy, thick figures, now it seems their tastes are swinging the other way.

The Kardashians Are Reversing Their Surgeries

For all the years that the Kardashian women spent trying to plump up their bodies, now it seems that they're undoing almost all of it. A plastic surgeon named Darren Smith who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter noted that the celebrities appeared to have dissolved their lip fillers, had their breast implants taken out, and even had their buttocks made smaller.

Darren commented on how seeing the Kardashians undo much of their cosmetic work was making other people follow suit:

Lifts and even breast reductions are on the rise, along with tummy tucks to make the midsection look more fit.

"I see a 20 percent increase in women coming in for lifts this year over last," added Dr. Lyle Leipziger, another plastic surgeon, making it clear that society is in for overall shift in beauty trends. Lyle went on to explain that clients were so intent on having the perfect body that they would come in for minor tweaks, requesting something as slight as implants to go up a single cup size.

Fans Can't Keep Up With The Changes

Considering the privilege the Kardashians have, they have access to far more medical resources than the average person, and now fans are feeling the pressure to keep up with the rapidly changing trends. While a celebrity might disappear for a few weeks and return with an entirely new figure, such a transformation isn't achievable for most people.

The doctors interviewed by the aforementioned Hollywood Reporter article noted the pressure this was putting on their clients who felt compelled to follow suit. Dr. Howard Sobel noted that this could result in people asking for unrealistic requests when they came to visit them:

They bring in pictures of celebrities they want to look like, but they don’t even have similar facial structures.

As the trend of "de-Kardashianing" bodies continues, only time will tell if the reality TV stars pull another bait and switch on their loyal followers.
