Looking back, That '70s Show took a major risk with their cast of young actors, especially Topher Grace who was new to the business at the time. He quickly proved the show right, thriving in his main role as Eric Forman. The same held true for the rest of the cast, as it launched the careers of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, among others.
In the following, we're going to take a closer look at Topher's time alongside his castmates off-camera. In addition, we'll reveal Grace's reaction to finding out about Kutcher and Kunis' relationship all those years later after That '70s Show. As expected, the actor was very supportive and thrilled for the couple. But like everyone else, he didn't see signs during their time on the show.
Topher Grace Revealed He Didn't Spend Much Time With The That '70s Show Cast Off-Camera
Fans of That '70s Show are well aware, the show was not the same when Topher Grace parted ways. Grace has great memories from the show and was open to reuniting with his former cast on That '90s Show. However, he felt differently about watching himself back in reruns.
"It's hard for me to watch that show in reruns," said Grace, who played leading man Eric Forman. "It makes you so nostalgic. It'd be like if they were rerunning your high school yearbook all the time."
As for his time alongside Danny Masterson and if he saw anything negative from the actor, Grace revealed he usually did his own thing when the show wasn't filming.
“You know, I hesitate to say that I never saw any of that behavior because I feel like it sounds like I’m defending him,” he admits, “but the truth is I never saw any of that stuff. I was, of that cast, the most boring. So when it came to going out after the show and partying, I just was boring.”
Despite the lack of hang out time with the cast, Grace still kept close and that remains true today thanks to a group chat. And as for his relationship with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, that appears to be positive given his thoughts on their relationship.
Topher Grace Admitted He Was Surprised By Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' Relationship In The Later Years
Although Mila Kunis admitted to crushing on Ashton Kutcher during That '70s Show, her crush wasn't enough for her fellow castmates to take note. That's at least true for Topher, as the actor revealed he didn't see any signs between the two during their time on the show. Nonetheless, Topher Grace was nothing but positive when discussing how the two ended up getting together, comparing it to a high school couple.
"It was surprising for all of us, yeah, just because that wasn't a thing then [during the show]," he said. "If you think about it, it's all like high school. We actually were playing high school students, and it would be like if two of your great friends from high school grew up, went to college, had jobs and then actually got together. It's so cool."
Grace felt just as positive when reuniting with his former castmates, comparing the moment to Christmas day.
"It was a gift. They are all such amazing, amazing people who are so influential in my life and who I became. To be able to go back and not just hang out with them together, which was so much fun, but then to be able to work with them… it was great."
Great to see that the cast has managed to keep things positive behind the scenes.
Mila Kunis Shared Her First Kiss Ever With Ashton Kutcher On That '70s Show, But Didn't Tell Her Future Husband
We can only imagine the stress involved for Mila Kunis years ago on That '70s Show. Not only was she crushing on Ashton Kutcher, but she was about to kiss the actor on camera. As if that wasn't stressful enough, the kiss turned out to be Mila's first ever.
She revealed alongside People, "I was like, 'Oh, he's so cute, it's the Calvin Klein model!' " she said. "Then I was like, 'I have to kiss him?' I was so nervous and uncomfortable. I had the biggest crush on him."
As for Kutcher, he had no idea that he was her first kiss, and admitted to feeling extremely nervous himself to shoot the scene.
"I'm the first she kissed? Oh my god, I had no idea!" he said in 2001. "I'm so glad I didn't know that or it would've been too much pressure."
Kutcher adds, "I was so nervous. She acted so cool. She seemed as if she'd done it a thousand times. I was the one with the butterflies in my stomach. I mean, here's this little girl and I have to kiss her. It was nerve-racking."
Nowadays, Mila is raising a family with the man she shared a first kiss with, not to shabby.
