Howard Stern has developed a reputation for being one of the most politically incorrect voices in radio history. He has now evolved into a lauded interviewer who excels at getting celebrities to open up.

However, in the past, Stern's political incorrectness extended to his opinions on these celebrities. Therefore, many famous people didn't always want to step into Stern's orbit.

Case in point, when Stern encountered Paris Hilton at a show in Las Vegas. According to Stern, the socialite was not happy to see him at the same event as her.

Howard Stern Revealed Paris Hilton Refused To Sit Next To Him At A Las Vegas Show

During an episode of The Howard Stern Show, the radio host goofed on Hilton's song "Drunk Text." While he mocked Hilton for having "no talent" and living a "vapid" lifestyle, Stern shared a story about an encounter he had with the socialite.

According to Stern, while visiting Las Vegas, he and his wife Beth were attending a show. It was then that Hilton arrived with an entourage. However, it was clear that she wasn't happy to see the radio host.

"When I was in Vegas, I was at some show with my wife," Stern began, "and Paris Hilton came in with 20 people. She took a look at where she was going to be sitting, which was next to me, and she refused."

Stern then explained Hilton's reason for not wanting to sit next to him.

"Because I make fun of her," Stern revealed, before sarcastically saying, "Because nobody does that. How could you make fun of her?"

This isn't the first time Hilton has shown an aversion to situations where she felt disrespected. Hilton was being interviewed in 2011 by ABC News' Dan Harris in her newly renovated Los Angeles home. The interview turned south when he asked her a question that caused her to walk out.

The question had to do with Kim Kardashian and whether Hilton felt like she was living in her shadow. Harris also asked her if she felt her "moment has passed." After apparently growing tired of the subject at hand, Hilton sighed, looked slightly off-camera, and walked off.

According to Harris, what followed was a tense conversation between Hilton and her publicist. Hilton could even be heard off-camera saying, "I don’t want all of this being used."

Paris Hilton cut her interview short when Kim Kardashian was brought up.

Hilton eventually gave Harris a full answer to his question about her time being up: "I’ve been doing this for 15 years now, so it’s been a long time … so just like any other business person or someone in the industry, it’s always important to reinvent yourself and come up with new projects."

Hilton hugged and made up with Harris at the end of the interview.

Paris Hilton Wasn't The Only Celebrity Howard Has Offended In The Past

In 1998, Mariah Carey attended the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. Another celebrity who was in attendance was Stern. Stern was also recording an episode of his radio show while cameras documented it for the E! Channel.

Carey was a guest on the show that night, much to the dismay of her publicist. To start things off, Carey asked what kind of camera angles they would be getting.

"Right up your dress!" Stern quipped.

Carey seemed aware of the environment she got herself into, however.

"I'm not sure about what's going on, and you guys can be a little bit lewd sometimes," she said.

Stern took that as an invitation to get more lewd, asking, "Why didn't you flash me onstage?"

Carey maintained that she was an "innocent girl" and continued to ask Stern not to be lewd. Stern eventually moved on to other topics, like her mixed race background. Carey then called Stern out on past comments he made where he said he didn't believe she was mixed race. Stern, however, said he knew her father was Black.

The interview ended with Carey inviting Stern to come talk with her after the show. No word on whether any such conversation took place. The peace wouldn't last, however, as in 2001, Carey called out Stern for mocking her weight.

Things seemed grim for Carey and Stern until 2012 when Stern crossed paths with Carey's then-husband Nick Cannon. Cannon and Stern both worked together on America's Got Talent. Cannon later revealed he brought Carey to Stern's house where the radio host apologized to her. The following year, Carey and Cannon revealed Stern bought them gifts, with Carey saying Stern was "very nice."

Paris Reflected On Being Mistreated By David Letterman In A Past Interview

In 2021, the documentary Framing Britney Spears set off a huge discussion about how women were treated in the media. A lot of clips from past interviews with Spears went viral on social media. Many of these clips were used by fans to point out sexist double standards applied to the pop star.

Hilton, Spears' friend, decided to comment on the documentary while also sharing her own experiences. On an episode of her podcast This Is Paris, she said the documentary was "hard to watch." She also reflected on her 2007 interview on the Late Show with David Letterman.

During the appearance, Letterman asked a lot of questions regarding Hilton's three-week stint in jail for violating her probation in an alcohol-related driving incident.

"At this point I hadn't done an interview in months and months, because I didn't want to talk about it. Letterman's team kept calling my PR team to have me on the show, and we kept saying no," Hilton said.

She revealed that her PR team eventually agreed to the interview, but only under one condition.

"My PR team made an agreement to him that [the prison discussion] was off limits, and we would not discuss it, and we'd only be there to promote the perfume and my other business ventures," she said. "I felt like it was a safe place because I'd been going on Letterman for so many years, and he'd always have fun with me and joke around, and I thought he'd keep his word on this. And I was wrong."

Taylor Swift Had The Perfect Response To David Letterman After He Asked Why She Stopped Making "Snarky" Lyrics About Ex-Boyfriends

Taylor Swift revealed the reason she didn't feel like writing about "lousy" ex-boyfriends on her "1989" album.

Hilton revealed that Letterman wasn't supposed to question her on the subject, causing her to feel "so uncomfortable and so upset."

"It was like he was purposely trying to humiliate me. During commercial breaks, I would look at him like, 'Please stop doing this, you promised me you wouldn't talk about this. That's the only reason I agreed to come on the show. Please don't bring it up again,'" Hilton said, even though there aren't any commercial breaks in the resurfaced clips circulating online. "It was just very cruel and very mean. After it ended, I looked at him and said, 'I'm never coming on this show again, you've crossed the line.'"
