We'll take a look back at the moment, and what Stern had to say. We'll also reveal Stern and David Letterman's thoughts on Trump nowadays.
Howard Stern Called Donald Trump A Great Guest, While He Revealed The Former President Had Rated Angelina Jolie A 7
During Howard Stern's interview on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, the radio host made several reveals. Among them, Howard stated that any guest that would say whatever was on their mind was considered a great guest. Surprisingly, Stern placed Trump in this category.
He said, "No matter what I asked him, he would answer. In a very sincere and thought out way."
Stern recalls asking Trump who the true beauties were in the world, and the former President gave a surprising answer. He said it wasn't actresses, but instead, models. Trump would go on to call those that work in the entertainment business, "6s and 7s." Stern would then challenge Trump. He said, "Mr. Trump, I think Angelina Jolie is a great beauty," only for Trump to say, "7!"
Donald would categorize his own daughter Ivanka Trump as a 10. Howard Stern's breakdown of the story was truly entertaining and a moment fans enjoyed.
Despite the positive experiences with Trump in the past as a guest, it hasn't changed Stern's perception of Trump as President.
Howard Stern Revealed He Is Currently "Anti-Trump"
On his SiriusXM show back in September of 2023, Howard Stern told off critics for calling him "woke." Stern took exception to the comments, stating that just because he doesn't stand with Trump doesn't mean he's woke.
Stern revealed, “I’ll tell you how I feel about it. To me the opposite of woke, is being asleep. And if woke means I can’t get behind Trump, which is what I think it means, or that I support people who want to be transgender or I’m for the vaccine, dude call me woke as you f------ want.”
Stern would go on to reveal that most of the woke comments stem from his opposing views from Donald Trump. Stern jokingly revealed that in order to combat this, he should run for President.
“I said to [co-host] Robin [Quivers], and I hate to say this, but, but I said to her, ‘I’m actually gonna probably have to run for president now."
“The problem with most presidents is they have too big of an agenda. The only agenda I would have is to make the country fair again.”
In truth, Stern is far from the only person to take aim at Donald Trump. That also includes David Letterman, who had Donald Trump on the show several times in the past.
David Letterman Interviewed Donald Trump Several Times, But Was Unsure What He Was Going To Get From His Guest
Letterman kept very quiet during Stern's story about Donald Trump. Though in truth, Letterman must've had plenty of stories of his own, given how often Trump appeared on the Late Show.
Despite their experiences together, Letterman referred to Trump as "psychotic." Letterman recalls his time with Trump, “Everybody says, ‘Oh, wouldn’t you like to talk to Donald Trump [today]?’ And I would. I would just like to say, ‘Don, it’s Dave. Remember me? I want to talk to the real Donald Trump.’"
He continues, "Because I now don’t know which is the real Donald Trump, and if the Donald Trump that I was talking to [back then] was the real Donald Trump, how do you get to be the guy he is now? Politics notwithstanding — let’s just say everything is great and he’s done a great job, but he still behaves the way he behaves — who behaves like that?!”
Letterman added that he would like to know where things went wrong with Trump.
“He used to be kind of like the boob of New York that pretended to be wealthy, or we thought was wealthy, and now he’s just a psychotic. Is that putting too fine a point on it? I don’t even care if it’s recorded, I would just like to talk to the guy, because, as I said before, he knows me, I know him — what the hell went wrong?!”
The feelings towards Trump haven't changed from Letterman's standpoint since the statement was made in 2019.
