Jacob Elordi and Zendaya were seen kissing in New York City this week, seemingly confirming the relationship fans have been speculating since the Euphoria co-stars were seen on vacation together last August. Elordi has claimed that he considers Zendaya his "sister," but a source told E! News that the couple is "inseparable" and has been dating "for months."
Their Relationship Has Been Rumored Since August
Rumors of a secret romance between Elordi and Zendaya were first sparked when they were spotted on vacation together in Greece in August 2019. An eyewitness told Us Weekly at the time, “They looked like they were getting a little cozy. At one point, they were walking with each other and being a little flirty.”
The pair refused to confirm that they were dating, but they traveled to Elordi's native Australia to celebrate Thanksgiving together, and were later seen enjoying a movie date in Los Angeles.
Jacob Claimed That Zendaya Is Just Like A "Sister" To Him
Elordi briefly put the speculation that he was in a relationship with his Euphoria co-star on hold during an interview with GQ Australia in December 2019, by claiming that she's more like a sibling than his girlfriend.
"She’s like my sister. Zendaya is an amazing creative, you know? She’s super dope to work with," he said. "She’s an incredible artist and a very caring person to all of us. But we’re all really close. There is not one weak link in that show.”
A Source Says They've Been Dating For Months
Elordi's claim that Zendaya is just like a sister to him was seemingly proven false after he was seen giving her a kiss on the head while the pair was out and about in New York City on February 3. As the media sparked more rumors about what the kiss could mean, a source revealed to E! News that the Euphoria stars are in fact dating.
“Jacob and Zendaya have been seeing each other for months now. They started as close friends but it became romantic after their show ended,” stated the source. “They have been inseparable since last summer and have been making time for each other in between projects. Jacob has met Zendaya‘s family and everyone adores him. They have a lot of fun together and have a lot in common.”
