Jamie Lee Curtis is an outstanding actress with many accolades to her name. The daughter of acting legends Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, it is no wonder Jamie is such a joy to watch on screen, and it comes as no surprise that fans are still gushing over her, even though she's played the same character for 44 years.

Jamie Lee Curtis has been in several hit films, from Knives Out to Freaky Friday, but she is probably best known for being Laurie Strode in the Halloween films, an epic horror franchise about the masked serial killer Michael Myers.

Jamie has brought the brave sister of Myers to life and has kept her the admirable hero in the hearts of horror fans for 44 years.

And despite being the same character for over four decades, both Jamie Lee and her fans are still not even close to tiring of the badass that is Laurie Strode.

How Jamie Lee Curtis Became The "Scream Queen"

Jamie Lee Curtis had been in a few shows and movies throughout the seventies, but her breakthrough role came in 1978 with John Carpenter's Halloween.

The horror movie was a surprising success and nominated for an award. It also led to Jamie Lee Curtis getting more roles in more hit horror movies, including Halloween II in 1981, which led fans to dub her a "Scream Queen."

The Halloween movies have changed Jamie Lee Curtis's life. As well as making her a horror icon for over four decades, she's made hundreds of thousands per movie since Halloween II and allegedly made $5 million from Halloween Kills, which killed the box office.

Curtis isn't just a talented actress who's graced our screens since the 70s though; she'll also be directing Mother Nature, a horror movie about climate change.

There are now a total of twelve Halloween movies that have spanned over 44 years — and it's still not over.

Halloween Ends will be released in October 2022 where fans will get to see Laurie and her brother Michael go head-to-head, and finally find out how this deadly battle between good vs. evil, or slasher vs. badass hero ends.

44 Years Of Being Laurie Strode

Despite 44 years in the same role, Jamie Lee Curtis seems far from bored with being Laurie Strode. In an Instagram post, she shared with fans the moment she realized she had been Laurie Strode for 44 years and how grateful she was to everyone for keeping Laurie alive for so long.

"I woke up early this morning and realized I've been inhabiting Laurie Strode for 44 years. Her dreams became mine. Her nightmares too. Throughout it all a profound sense of gratitude to the fans that have kept her relevant and gave me employment for such a long time and I'm so f*^%ing exited by this new movie we are making."

Of course, it goes without saying that fans loved the post. One Instagram user said, "Love this. Love you. #truelegend" whilst another asked, "I mean...does anyone wanna see a Halloween without Jamie?"
