Jason Alexander Revealed He Was Encouraged To Leak The Script Of The Final Seinfeld Episode
During a Seinfeld reunion between Jason Alexander and Julia-Louis Dreyfus, the two spilled some behind the scenes details as to what took place during the finale. The show coming to an end was a huge deal, despite the fact that Jerry was given a mega offer to continue on.
Nonetheless, the show ended after nine seasons, and the press tried to get a jump on what was going to take place on finale night. Julia Louis-Dreyfus recalled the buzz and how the media tried to get an upper hand, at the time she just didn't understand why they were trying so hard. As for Alexander, he made quite the reveal, stating that he was actually bribed by his own team to spill the finale.
Jason revealed during the reunion, “My own publicist — I don’t know if this came for you, too — my publicist was asking me if I was willing to leak out some secrets for money,” he said. “And I went, ‘They’ll kill us!’ How can you do that?”
Louis-Dreyfus asked if Alexander fired his team member after the moment, while the actor downplayed it, saying he gave them a raise...

Jason Alexander Revealed The Final Seinfeld Episode Wasn't Emotional, But He Was Closest To Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Credit to Alexander for his honesty. Speaking about his relationship with his fellow cast members, the actor revealed that they were strictly work friends, especially given how different their lives were behind the scenes.
"We were never social friends, we were work friends. We had very different lives,' he said.
Alexander added that once the finale came to an end, the cast just went their own ways, and in terms of emotions, it was not a sad process for the cast.
"But we really hung out with each other at the show. We were work mates,' he added. "After nine years, when the show ended, we kind of went, "Oh, bye, see ya!"'
Alexander would go on to reveal that he did share a closer relationship with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, especially given that they had children at the same time. The closeness holds true today as the two appeared alongside one another in a Seinfeld reunion.
Alexander did reveal that he sporadically keeps in touch with the others, particularly on birthdays, and he did admit when they do reunite, it is as if no time has passed.
Wayne Knight Revealed The Seinfeld Finale Didn't Land The Way It Was Supposed To
The Seinfeld finale will always be heavily debated, and even former cast members made the reveal that it didn't quite land the way it should have. Speaking alongside Comic Book, Wayne Knight aka Jerry's nemesis Newman shared his thoughts on the last episode.
"I think I'm like the rest of the public as far as the finale goes. I don't think you can end that show in a way that would work," Knight revealed.
"The idea of doing a retrospective winds up feeling like a clip show, so I think that they tried to pay tribute to all of the people who had walked through that set, all the great performances, all the great people. And it didn't quite land in the way that they wanted."
As for Jerry, well he seemed to be content with the way the series wrapped up and ended. Ultimately, Jerry thought it was time to move on from the series, while it appears as though his fellow castmates weren't complaining either, and ready to move on.
Since the show, the cast has worked on various projects, although some believe a certain 'Seinfeld curse' exists. Don't tell that to Julia Louis-Dreyfus who doesn't buy into that.
