When it comes to the Aquaman sequel, reports are truly all over the place at the moment. Amber Heard And Jason Momoa Got Along During Aquaman
During their time together in Aquaman, there were conflicting rumors about the relationship between Jason Momoa and Amber Heard. Some tabloids made mention that the two lacked chemistry - though on the other hand, there was also word that Momoa tried to salvage Heard's role on the film.
Given the photos of the two behind the scenes, we have reason to believe that they were closer than further apart.
Vanity Fair suggested that Momoa tried to keep the actress on for the sequel, "Arnold also suggested that the movie studio behind “Aquaman” weren’t keen to have Heard return to the franchise, and that it was only due to the advocacy from Momoa, Wan and Heard’s own management team that she was able to secure a role in the next film."
The future for Heard in the sequel remains unknown at the moment with conflicting reports emerging. Nonetheless, we do know that when they worked together, Momoa didn't hesitate to prank his co-star.
Jason Momoa Pranked Amber Heard When They Were Suspended In The Air
Suspended 30-feet in the air for hours, Amber Heard needed to find ways to keep entertained. Momoa was okay with just chilling, while Heard put her focus on reading books while waiting between takes.
"I would have to drop it between takes 30-feet in the air suspended on wires during these large setups and somebody would rush in and throw my book up at me," she said. "I would feel so bad someone was going out of their way to do it so I was like, 'no, it's OK' and they could tell I was going crazy -- so wardrobe built me a book bag," Heard said.
"I could sling it over me and then I would just like bring it around and pull out my book," she said.
Ultimately, Jason decided to have some fun of his own at Heard's expense, ripping pages out of her book so that she wouldn't reach the end.
"He adopted this method of ripping out the pages of my book so I would pay attention to him," she said. "It would drive me crazy because I'd have 30 pages left and it would be gone."
It was a hilarious, yet cruel prank from Momoa, likely as a way to get the attention of his co-star during moments of boredom suspended up in the air.
Amber Heard Is Still Denying Being Replaced In Aquaman 2
"The rumor mill continues as it has from Day One -- inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane." Those are the words from Amber Heard's PR team when discussing her future in Aquaman 2.
TMZ further stated that a decision has not been made yet, though there are rumors of Heard's lines being extremely thin, lasting less than ten minutes.
"There were rumblings Amber's screen time had been cut down significantly -- the word was, as of one of the more recent screenings, she was in it for less than 10 minutes ... and DC chief Walter Hamada seemed to confirm that in his testimony, but stopped short of declaring a hard number."
Production for the sequel ended in January, given all the delays already to take place, including how expensive reshoots cost, taking Heard out of the film completely might be a stretch, both in time and dollars.
