As for Momoa's connection to Depp, the Aquaman actor's step-daughter Zoë Kravitz co-starred with Johnny in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. On top of working with Depp, after Kravitz spoke about Johnny during an interview, Heard responded in a tweet.
"Reading @ZoeKravitz interview reminds me just how desperately we need to know actual 'heroes'" While a lot of observers concluded Heard was calling Kravitz out, Heard's words can be deciphered as simply advocating against society putting stars on pedestals without knowing if they are worthy of that.
After the fake Momoa testimony video went viral, a reporter for Newsweek spoke to its creator, George M, from Michigan. During the interview, George explained his motivation for creating and publishing the video.
"The reason why I made these videos of the Depp/Heard trial is because it was in my ball field. I found an opportunity to to use my style of dubbing and showing these funny 'What if' scenarios. Like...what if Jason Momoa reacted to the trial?"
"People would love to see the real actors' reaction, but...since the real reaction isn't there I figured wouldn't it be funny to see a silly version of what that could be like? So it's not to be taken serious. I make these first of all for myself, something I'd like to see and hopefully they would also put a smile on other people's faces. Give them a good laugh,"
