The news of Christine Quinn not returning to Selling Sunset came as a shock to most fans of Netflix's real estate docuseries.

Following the Oppenheim Group agents and their dreamy listings, the series a few years ago came with a huge helping of drama, often courtesy of Christine. Painted as the "villain" of the show, the agent appeared in five seasons of Selling Sunset before deciding to exit ahead of Seasons 6 and 7, shot back to back in 2022.

Christine was at the center of controversy during her Selling Sunset stint. Christine's feuds with her colleagues, including those with former Days of Our Lives star-turned-agent Chrishell Stause and co-star Emma Hernan, and her sassy one-liners have been one of the reasons why fans have enjoyed her chaotic energy in the O Group. As she has stepped down to focus on other ventures, there have been mixed reactions to her exit.

Updated October 2024: This article has been updated to reflect the most recent information regarding Jason Oppenheim's brutally honest thoughts about Christine Quinn's "Selling Sunset" exit.

Selling Sunset's Jason Oppenheim On Christine Quinn's Exit

Jason Oppenheim had nothing but nice things to say about Christine Quinn when she left the Oppenheim Group and Selling Sunset

Jason Oppenheim, who founded the O Group together with his twin brother Brett, had nice words for Christine after she made her exit, first announced in August 2022. It was reported that she and the show's producers came to a mutual decision as she is focusing on her crypto brokerage group with her husband, Christian Dumontet, while sources also suggest she was pursuing a modeling career now that she's signed with IMG Models.

Speaking after Christine's exit, Jason said that he didn't "know the details" of Christine's departure and that he tends not to "get involved in that stuff."

"I always think [my agents] are capable of making their own decisions," the real estate broker told TMZ.

"I'll advise and support, but I would never get upset at anyone for leaving. I want the best for Christine. If she thinks that's best, then I support that."

Jason Oppenheim Said Selling Sunset Will Always Be Dramatic, Even Without Christine Quinn

Christine Quinn brought a lot of drama to Selling Sunset, but there has been plenty on the show since she has left

But Jason also responded to fan concerns that the show may lose its edge without Christine, assuring them this would not be the case.

"We have such a strong team," he said, adding: "We have two new really strong women. Zero concerns about season six and seven being our best."

"There are a lot of strong personalities, including two new women. So, I don't want to use the word villain, but I think that there's going to be interesting dynamics that will appear."

Jason reiterated this in November 2022, confirming there were "issues" between agents in the newest chapters, too.

"I think everyone thought that everyone was going to get along and there would be less drama, but I think that is not the case," the real estate broker told E! News.

"Arguably that's good for the show, but I don't know if that's good for me and the work dynamic. Definitely there have been some issues between agents."

Christine Quinn Assured She Wouldn't Leave Selling Sunset

Christine Quinn had previously stated she would be on Selling Sunset long term

The official announcement was a twist in the show's history after Christine had previously said she would be a part of Selling Sunset for as long as she could.

"I have left The Oppenheim Group to start my own venture, actually called RealOpen.com. It was purely a decision for what was best for my business."

"However, with Selling Sunset, that's my baby," she added. "I would always love to continue to do the seasons and be on the show as long as I can.

"I love it and it's my baby. It doesn't mean I'm leaving the show. I just had to make a choice for my business to start my own brokerage and my own platform."

Some thought there was a chance Christine could return to the show for a cameo. However, since she left, Christine has not been on Selling Sunset.

The Feud Between Selling Sunset Christine Quinn And Chrishell Stause

Chrishell Stause and Christine Quinn had their issues, specifically because of a leaked story to a tabloid

While Jason has publicly commented about Christine's departure, other agents have been quiet on the matter.

It's not a secret that Christine doesn't seem to be on good terms with her colleagues, including Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, Mary Fitzgerald and others. As a result, she was often cut out of photos and events and complained about her colleagues' behavior on social media.

During her run on the show, Christine was accused of planting a false story about Chrishell's divorce from This Is Us star Justin Hartley, as well as trying to bribe Emma's clients to work with her instead. She rejected the accusation.

"I would never bribe a client. I've never bribed a client. I don't need to bribe a client, because they'll work with me organically."

Despite starting out as fast friends on Season 1, Chrishell and Christine fell out in the final episode over the former's accusations that the How To Be A Boss B**ch author had been speculating about the authenticity of Mary's relationship with her now husband Romain Bonnet.

In 2020, Chrishell slammed some comments Christine made about her divorce from Justin. In her tweet, Christine claimed that the pair had been going to therapy, seemingly contradicting Chrishell's version that she had been blindsided by the split.

"I just learned Christine is giving press 'information' about my divorce. Let me be VERY clear. She knows absolutely nothing about the situation and is obviously desperate to gain attention by doing so."

Chrishell went on to write in her tweet, "Anything from her is either a complete lie or total conjecture on her part."

Their relationship never recovered, with Chrishell reiterating they tried to keep things professional while the cameras were on but were unlikely to hang out as friends.
