Still, nobody would have predicted that she would wind up sharing harsh words with two other celebrities.

Every year, new celebrity feuds take the media by storm. In some cases, there are feuds that nobody would see coming like the fact that Chris Rock took shots at Selena Gomez. Another example of that is the fact that Jennifer Lawrence once feuded with Joan Rivers and Kelly Osbourne.

This article will start by revealing why Lawrence called Rivers and Osbourne out. Following that, the article will reveal how Rivers responded to what Lawrence said about her.

Jennifer Lawrence's Hate For Joan Rivers' Fashion Police Sparked A Feud

Ever since Jennifer Lawrence first became famous, she hasn't been afraid to stick up for herself and other stars. One perfect example of that is the time Lawrence called out the show Fashion Police and its stars, including Joan Rivers and Kelly Osbourne.

In 2013, Lawrence took part in a Yahoo! Q & A session. During the resulting back and forth, the topic of the show Fashion Police came up. To say that Lawrence expressed her anger at Fashion Police is an understatement. As the star explained, Lawrence was outraged that Fashion Police hosts called celebrities ugly and fat.

"There are shows like Fashion Police that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it's okay to point at people and call them ugly or fat."

Lawrence continued, "They call it 'fun' and they say 'welcome to the real world' -- and that shouldn't be the real world. It's going to continue being the real world if we keep it that way. We have to stop treating each other like that and stop calling each other fat."

During the aforementioned Yahoo! Q & A session, Lawrence spoke about a related topic, beauty standards. Lawrence explained that she believes people in the media. like the stars of Fashion Police, make sure female celebrities are held to ridiculous beauty standards.

"There are unrealistic expectations for women, it's disappointing that the media keeps it alive and fuels that fire. It's something that really bothers me -- because I love to eat."

In fairness, Lawrence didn't specifically bring up Joan Rivers or Kelly Osbourne during any of these comments. Considering that Fashion Police had several co-hosts, it could be argued she wasn't talking about them. However, man observers concluded that Lawrence's comments pertained to Osbourne and Rivers.

Despite Jennifer Lawrence's calling out Fashion Police in 2013, the show continued for many years. It wasn't until 2017 that Fashion Police was canceled. The show even survived for years after its main host, Joan Rivers, passed away in 2014 after her daughter took over the reins.

In Osbourne's case, the reason observers felt Lawrence was calling her out is based on something Ozzy Osbourne's daughter once said. Before Lawrence's comments, Kelly Osbourne caused controversy after calling Christina Aguilera "fat".

"Maybe she is just becoming the fat b*tch she was born to be."

Considering Lawrence was angry that Fashion Police normalized calling celebrities "fat", Osbourne's comment may have inspired the X-Men actor's comments.

Similar to Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga called out Kelly Osbourne and Joan Rivers by name in a public statement. "I have empathy for you Kelly, but I feel it culturally important to note that you have chosen a less compassionate path. Your work on E! with the Fashion Police is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people's beauty against one another. 'Appearance' is the most used reason for bullying in the world. Your show breeds negativity, and over the years has even become comedic in nature. It glorifies you and Joan Rivers pointing in the camera, laughing, and making jokes about artists and celebrities as if we are zoo animals."

Since Joan Rivers was Fashion Police's main host, it seemed almost certain Lawrence's comments about Fashion Police also involved her. At the very least, Rivers clearly believed Lawrence was calling her out since she responded to her.

Around the same time, Lawrence spoke about having her body judged during a separate interview. While speaking to Elle in 2012, Lawrence explained that her weight was harshly judged by those in the media at that time.

"In Hollywood, I'm obese. I'm considered a fat actress. I'm Val Kilmer in that one picture on the beach."

Joan Rivers Lashed Out At Jennifer Lawrence's Comments About Fashion Police

During Joan Rivers' life, the beloved comedian, host, and actor proved how iron-willed she was over and over again. One of the many examples of that is the fact that it seemed like Rivers never backed down when her celebrity peers came at her. Given Rivers' tenacious personality, it shouldn't surprise anyone that she responded to Jennifer Lawrence.

After Lawrence's comments about Fashion Police went viral, Rivers called Lawrence out on social media. Opting to use the social media network then known as Twitter, Rivers started by claiming that the X-Men actor used to be a fan of the show.

"It's funny how Jennifer Lawrence loved @E_FashionPolice during Awards Season when we were complimenting her every single week."

Rivers then went on to claim that Lawrence only changed her tune since she had a movie to promote. Still not through, Rivers claimed Lawernce had a huge ego.

"But now that she has a movie to promote, suddenly we're picking on all those poor, helpless actors. It just dawned on me why Jennifer Lawrence fell on the way up to the stage to get her Oscar. She tripped over her own arrogance."
