Actress Mayim Bialik will be the only Jeopardy! host since Mike Richards was forced to step down.
Jeopardy! has not been the same since the show lost its iconic host of 37 years to cancer last year. Alex Trebek ran the long-running television quiz show and his shoes are truly impossible to fill.
Millions of Americans shouted the answers at Mr. Trebek every Monday through Friday as he read the questions with such diction.
Alex once said, "My life has been a quest for knowledge and understanding, and I am nowhere near having achieved that. And it doesn't bother me in the least. I will die without having come up with the answers to many things in life."
When he passed, producers did not know how to replace this pop culture icon. However, the network chose to move on with hosts, Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik.
This duo worked for a hot second until pure chaos erupted for Richards.
Take A Look Down Memory Lane
Alex Trebek's legacy.
Richards is an executive producer on Jeopardy! and Mayim is an actress which you may recognize from The Big Bang Theory. The two each brought different aspects to the table that the network thought was a good match.
Fans agree to disagree with the decision, but they didn't even need to ruin his career because he did that all by himself.
"Mike Richards announced Friday that he was stepping down following revelations that he’d previously made a string of disparaging comments about women, Jews, and poor people and that two lawsuits alleged that, while a producer on the game show “The Price Is Right,” he discriminated against two of the show's models."
Mike Richards' Official Statement
It is Marik's time to step in as interim host post-Richard's departure, and fans have a lot to say about her solo gig.
Fans React
"at last a host free of controversy [googles Mayim Bialik] oh no."
@jeffjarvis tweeted, "And while we're at it, keep in mind that Mayim Bialik, though vaccinated, spreads vaccine doubt and hawks brain quackery. She is no representative for a show about facts and authority. Replace the executive producer. Fire the executives over him. And give @levarburton the gig."
Fans would prefer to make it a Daily Double and fire Mayim Bialik while they are at it.
