White was a realist when assessing Fiona's departure from the series. However, on the flip side, the actor was "excited" to see what was next for the Gallagher family without Fiona by their side.

Jeremy Allen White added, “As sad as I am to lose Emmy as an acting partner, it’s kind of exciting because it’s gonna be a different show; it’ll mix things up. It’ll be pretty crazy to see how Lip copes without her and how the Gallaghers survive without their matriarch.”
Divorces aren't usually cheap, and The Bear star Jeremy Allen White might have spent a lot of money divorcing Addison Timlin.
William H. Macy also reacted to the news at the time, understanding Rossum's choice to move on.
“We’ve been expecting it,” Macy said. "I tell you, when you get to season 9 and you think of [whether] to keep going, it’s daunting. It’s hard not to think of: ‘What would my life be post-Shameless?’ And part of it is very frightening and part of it is very exciting."
It seems like although Rossum left the show, she still has lots of respect for her former co-stars, and that includes the highly talented Jeremy Allen White.
Emmy Rossum Praised Jeremy Allen White For His Work In The Bear
Winning EW's Entertainers of the Year, Emmy Rossum issued a tribute to her former cast member and his role in The Bear. Rossum had a lot of good things to say, and knew White would enjoy major success.
"I've known Jeremy for over a decade and consider him to be one of my closest friends. There's also a real duality that exists within him that he brings to his work — equal parts intensity and vulnerability. There's something quite literally magnetic about him that makes you unable to take your eyes off him."

Rossum continues, "Being in scenes opposite him for nine years on Shameless, I watched him continue to bring an electricity and danger to his performance. He's powerful, but there's always a tenderness about his fury. He isn't afraid to show a side of himself that's ugly or unlikeable, ever. He's not afraid to be sensitive. He makes it really easy to care about him and love him."
Rossum is proud of White's role in The Bear, but admitted she did not expect this type of role from her Shameless co-star.
"I will admit, I would never have imagined Jeremy as a chef. I could think of Jeremy playing many, many things, but a James Beard Award-winning chef? Not at the top of my mind. I had never known Jeremy to even put anything in a microwave when we worked together. So the fact that he has mastered knife skills, that this dialogue spills off his tongue in the most natural way, that he has total command of a kitchen — it is astonishing. That kind of transformation is no accident. It's commitment."
Great to see such a strong connection between the two. However, the same didn't hold true for all of Rossum's relationships with her fellow cast members.
Emma Kenney Had A Negative Experience With Emmy Rossum On Shameless
Kenney said of their time together, "I was obviously a lot younger," she explained. "There were times when she would try to be a good influence and then there were times where she would be blatantly giving me bad...not the best advice."

Kenney continues, "Maybe she was struggling with her own inner problems and taking it out on other people."
Despite the harsh words, Kenney revealed that the two still shared a lot of love. "We haven't spoken in years, but that's okay," she shared. "I hope that she finds her happiness and I heard she had a baby and that's beautiful and I'm sure she's going to be a lovely mother."
Clearly, Rossum had a different relationship with White compared to Kenney...
