Let's face it, when it comes to a Jim Carrey interview, you really never know what you're going to get. It can either be a deep and serious version of Jim, or the over the top version he's been known for throughout most of his career.
Then there's the other side, the deep side of Jim, which features some quotes that'll put anyone extremely deep in thought. "Everybody’s interested in invisible men, and invisible women. Artists are invisible people. They make avatars of themselves to be seen, and then at a certain point, you start realizing all the avatars you’ve made are not you, and even the first one that you are supposed to be is not you," he said.
Or this memorable quote, "I think that we’re all trying to add things to ourselves so we can finally define ourselves, and everyone will get us, and go ‘oh this is what you are,’ and if you actually get there, you will find it so empty, you’ll realize that’s so not what it’s about."
Some big words and surely, words to live by. However, let's just say some interviews have steered in different directions.
We'll take a look at one that took a bizarre twist but nonetheless, fans seemed to have loved the wacky side of Jim while alongside Michael Strahan on 'GMA'.
It Wasn't The First-Time Jim Carrey Gave A Weird Interview
Fans of Jim Carrey are well aware, when it comes to awkward interviews, the legend certainly knows how the stir the pot and make things a little more uncomfortable.
We've seen several examples in the past, including Carrey on the rep carpet during an event at the New York Fashion Week. Things took an odd twist when he stated, "I wanted to come to the most meaningless thing I could find and here I am."
Carrey would continue his deep rant, stating, "I don’t believe in icons. I don’t believe in personality. I believe that peace lies beyond personality, beyond invention in disguise, beyond the red ‘S’ that you wear on your chest that make bullets bounce off. I believe it’s deeper than that, I believe we’re a field of energy dancing for itself and I don’t care...”
Fans loved the interview and how real Jim was what his words, not buying into the glamour of the evening. Though it is said that Jim came across as harsh due to research for a role based on a documentary he was working on at the time.
As it turns out, the awkwardness continued in recent years.
Carrey Was All Over The Place On 'GMA' Alongside Michael Strahan
''How are we going to make it through this interview?" Those were the words uttered by none other than Michael Strahan during his 'Good Morning America' interview alongside the comedy legend. Things were all over the place throughout the interview, from Carrey playing the air guitar on his leg, to speaking in Strahan's microphone. The goal of the interview was to promote his newest film 'Sonic, at the time, but given how it all went down, there wasn't much about the film, aside from scenes that rolled during the interview.
Jim looked to be in top form and at the very least, Strahan didn't seem to be too bothered, instead, he looked like he was having fun... at least we think.
Fans also had a blast as Carrey engaged some of them, the comedy legend was in fine form and fans are still talking about the interview.
Although it might've felt a little over the top for some, those on YouTube absolutely loved the interview, calling it Jim in his best form.
