The late night host hasn't shied away expressing his true feelings, particularly when Trump was the President of the United States.
During his run on top, Kimmel was actually advised to tone his jokes down related to Trump. Kimmel didn't disagree with the request, however, he refused to do so and was willing to step aside if this was the course of action moving forward.
Jimmy revealed, “There was at one time, maybe, I don’t know, right around the beginning of this whole Trump thing where … that was kind of hinted at, but I just said, ‘Listen, I get it. I don’t disagree. I mean, you’re right."
"I just said, ‘If that’s what you want to do, I understand and I don’t begrudge you for it, but I’m not going to do that. So if you want somebody else to host the show, then that’s fine. That’s OK with me. I’m just not going to do it like that’ … I have lost half of my fans — maybe more than that,” he told the co-hosts.
Credit to Kimmel who did not back down, and stayed in his spot at Live despite the request from ABC.
However, given his dislike for the former President, some might expect that their time together in the past was a complete disaster.

During the interview, Trump pointed out that he would only agree to a debate if they got paid for it, given the amount of views it would generate.
Donald said he would give that money to charity, and Jimmy Kimmel actually seemed to be impressed by the idea. In addition, the host didn't look all that bothered throughout their conversation.

Kimmel revealed, "It was an embarrassing interview. It did make one thing very clear: The fact that Donald Trump is a profoundly stupid person,” Kimmel said.
“I think it’s important to remember that. He does not have the best words, he’s not a stable genius, that mental competency test he’s always bragging that he passed? It’s something the average 7-year-old could pass.”
There won't be any type of support from Jimmy Kimmel as Trump gets closer to another attempt at the White House. It remains to be seen what the future holds between these two rivals - though we assume that the Trump jabs won't be coming to an end anytime soon.
