For many years now, Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon have engaged in a fake feud on the former's popular talk show. While that "feud" was created to make people laugh, there is no doubt that Kimmel doesn't get along with some other stars.
In recent years, people have paid a lot of attention to Kimmel's ongoing battle of words with former President Donald Trump. On top of cracking jokes about Trump on his show, Kimmel has also taken shots at Trump on social media too.
Given that Kimmel cracks jokes about Trump on an almost daily basis, it makes sense that fans are very aware of how he feels about the former President. On the other hand, it turns out that there is another star who Kimmel clearly doesn't like.
In the past, Kimmel has revealed there is a notable Hollywood star who is banned from his show. While that is fascinating enough, the really interesting thing is that very few people likely would guess which star is banned from Kimmel's show since they don't have a difficult reputation.
Which Star Is Banned From Jimmy Kimmel Live!?
Typically when stars make appearances on talk shows, they hold their cards very close to their chest. Not wanting to say anything that will get them in trouble with fans or their celebrity peers, most stars instead opt to tell amusing but bland stories.
Over the last several decades, there have been a series of hosts who've somehow managed to habitually break down the walls that celebrities put up. In years past, it was Diane Sawyer and Oprah Winfrey who had a reputation for getting explosive celebrity interviews for example.
More recently, there is another talk show host who has taken on Winfrey and Sawyer's mantle in that department, Andy Cohen. For several years now, loads of celebrities have openly gossiped on live TV when they appeared on Cohen's show Watch What Happens Live.
In 2014, Cohen welcomed his fellow talk show host Jimmy Kimmel on his show. Unsurprisingly, Kimmel revealed some juicy gossip while talking to Cohen that most fans had no idea about at the time.
Partway through his appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Jimmy Kimmel was asked which former guests he would never allow back on his show. At first, Kimmel responded to the question without naming any names.
"You know, it's funny because all the guests I would never invite back, would never come back in the first place."
However, Kimmel eventually revealed that the widely respected actor Vivica A. Fox is not welcome back on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Sure enough, according to IMDb, Fox has made three appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! but she hasn't been back on the show since 2005.
Considering that Fox has never been one of the most controversial figures in Hollywood, it seems strange that she wouldn't be welcome on Kimmel's show. As it turns out, the reason that Fox was banned from the popular talk show is related to her friendship with The View's former co-host Star Jones.
Why Vivica A. Fox Is Banned From Jimmy Kimmel Live!
In 2004, former The View host Star Jones married Al Reynolds in a ceremony that got a lot of attention at the time. On the bright side for Jones, some people were very supportive of her getting married.
In the past, some of Vivica A. Fox's relationships have garnered a lot of attention including the time she dated the rapper 50 Cent. However, a lot of people have no idea about some of the other people that Fox has had a close bond with.
Back when Jones was preparing to get married, not only was Fox supportive of her plans, the two women were so close that Vivica was one of Star's bridesmaids.
In the lead-up to Jones' wedding, Fox made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! During that appearance, Kimmel asked Fox if she could be her date to Jones' wedding and unsurprisingly, that didn't happen.
According to what Kimmel said during the aforementioned Watch What Happens Live episode, Jones hates him. In fact, Kimmel says that Jones hated him so much that Star was upset that Fox went on his show, to begin with.
"Vivica A. Fox was the guest. She may have been invited to Star Jones' wedding and I may have asked her if I could be the date to that wedding, and Star Jones may hate me and may have yelled at her and she may have been very angry when she (Fox) came back to our show."
Since Kimmel seemingly doesn't have any problem with people being angry at him, when Fox appeared on his show following Jones' wedding Jimmy again cracked jokes about Star.
While introducing Fox during her subsequent appearance on his show, Kimmel listed Vivica's biggest credits and included the line "and most harrowing of all, Star Jones' bridesmaid."
In response to Kimmel's joke, Fox called him out and then suggested moving on. "We usually have really great comical moments, but that's my friend and I love her... It's not funny to me, so let's start over."
Despite Fox's offer to start over, things didn't get better from there. When Kimmel suggested that he and Fox could get together with Jones and her husband at the time, Vivica claimed that would put the host in danger.
"You would get your a** kicked... I would have to take off my shoe and beat you down, brother!"
Evidently confident that there was no way to have a normal conversation with Kimmel after what was already said, Fox eventually opted to walk off Jimmy Kimmel Live! With his guest gone and no time to replace her, Kimmel wound up spending a segment of his show talking to an empty chair.
Considering how incredibly poorly Fox's last appearance on his show went, it makes sense that Kimmel is done with her. On top of that, it seems very likely that Fox wouldn't want anything to do with Kimmel either.
