"We've always got so many things going on. I'll be doing a lot of shows this summer and traveling overseas this summer," John explained to Entertainment Tonight, though he noted his absence won’t be permanent. "I'll be back… If only I were actually going to take a break!"

Legend says he’s excited to see new faces on the upcoming season, explaining it’ll give the show a refresher while he needs a much-needed break from television.

"It's exciting to incorporate some new people into The Voice family. Having Snoop here, he's been here as a mentor before, but having him as a coach, I think is going to be a lot of fun and reinvigorate the show a bit," he continued.

"We've been around for 25 seasons and part of how we continue to stay fresh is introducing new coaches to The Voice family, and I think Michael and Snoop will do really well. And I'm excited that Gwen and Reba will be back too because they're both wonderful coaches,” Legend went on.

While John mentioned the oldest kids he shares with Chrissy, noting they were elated to recently come visit him on The Voice set and see what he does for work, Legend said very little about his wife.

The public-facing couple has never been shy to divulge about their marriage, the good and the bad, leading to speculation about where they stand today, especially since Teigen has been less active on social media compared to past years. But there have been rumors about the state of their relationship since Chrissy's bullying scandal, with some reports saying John took it harshly.

"He's upset about what's happening to his wife, and hes' trying to be there for her, but he's also so disappointed," one source told OK! Magazine. "This is not the woman he fell in love with and married."

There was once a time John even said he tried breaking-up with Chrissy, but she wouldn’t let him do it. Now, married since 2013, the couple share four children, including their youngest, who was born via surrogate while Chrissy was pregnant with their second youngest.

“I was really stressed and busy,” John explained. “I was just like, ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like, ‘No.’”

Chrissy later defended herself via Twitter (now known as X), saying John was being “whiny” and that’s why she wouldn’t accept the split., “It wasn’t a typical breakup. He was on tour and his voice hurt and he was being a whiny face about everything and so yeah, I was like ‘no,’” she tweeted.

She later made similar comments on the incident, insisting that John admits he regrets the attempted break-up.

“Early on in the relationship, I was on tour with him and he’d gotten sick. He was feeling really bummed and stressed out,” she explained to Cosmopolitan. “He was like, ‘I can’t be in a relationship right now.’ That lasted for one day. Literally, a day. I knew it came from a place other than us not working…”

“I always joke, ‘Remember when you tried to break up with me?’ He’s like, ‘Yes, sorry. Big mistake,’” she added.

Given that their two youngest were born after Chrissy's bullying scandal, it seems John remains committed to their marriage. So much so, he's giving up his coveted role on The Voice to put his family first.
