While the two movie stars fascinated observers, there is one person that the Depp v. Heard trial made famous. As Johnny Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez's performances in court garnered a lot of attention, both positive and negative.

Once Vasquez was thrust into the public eye, she became the subject of several headlines right after the verdict. Considering that Vasquez previously was a mostly unknown lawyer, it is fascinating to see how quickly her life seemed to be moving once she became famous.

One early example of that is the fact that in June 2022 right after the verdict, Vasquez had to deny rumors she was dating Depp. In response, Vasquez labeled the dating rumors "sexist".

That same month in June 2022, Vasquez received some news that she must have been overjoyed by. After she famously represented Depp, it was learned that Vasquez's law firm had promoted her to partner.

Just over a month later, Vasquez was interviewed by Hispanic Executive magazine. During the resulting interview, Vasquez expressed her hope that she was an inspiration for Latinas. A few months later, Vasquez was hired by Ye, and within days they ended their business relationship.

Ultimately, all of those headlines were a drop in the bucket of the attention Vasquez received for a while. However, things began to calm down for the lawyer until a report about something she reportedly said about her treatment of Amber Heard put her in the spotlight again.

On the other hand, for quite a while it seemed like Depp's former lawyer Camille Vasquez's time in the spotlight was over. At least, it seemed like that would be the case unless Vasquez gets involved in another huge trial in the future.

Surprisingly, however, Vasquez didn't need to get involved in another trial involving celebrities to be in the spotlight again. Instead, all that needed to happen was a report that Vasquez said something explosive about the Depp v. Heard trial.

In late September 2023, a man named Jonathan Kramer's post on Facebook about Vasquez went viral. According to Kramer, he attended the California Lawyers Association annual conference where Vasquez gave a speech and made a stunning claim.

Given that Vasquez is now most famous for her involvement in the Depp v. Heard trial, it makes sense that she would bring it up during a speech. However, according to Kramer's post, Vasquez went further by claiming that she used a dirty trick against Heard during the trial.

"Camille Vasquez said that during the Depp v. Herd trial, there may have been...and she emphasized 'may'... a bit of psychological warfare at play. Camille Vasquez said that during the Depp v. Herd trial, there may have been...and she emphasized 'may'... a bit of psychological warfare at play,"

Given Kramer's description of Vasquez's speech up until this point, it is easy to assume that he was appalled by her remarks. After all, most people wouldn't praise a person for conducting "psychological warfare" on someone. However, Kramer went on to praise Vasquez.

"Brilliant! Her discussion about her legal career was both refreshing and honest, and should be inspiring to young women looking to enter into the legal profession. I'm very happy that I chose this General Session to attend. Well worth it."

When considering what Vasquez reportedly said, it is important to note there is no confirmation she made those remarks. As of the time of this writing, a video of Vasquez's speech hasn't gone public, and she hasn't commented.

Of course, Vasquez's speech could have played out exactly as Kramer described in his Facebook post. However, even if Vasquez made those remarks, that doesn't mean that any cologne was actually sprayed in the bathroom that Heard used daily.

Once the subreddit r/Fauxmoi shared Kramer's post, the post got a lot of attention. In the comments section, several Reddit users reacted like it is completely confirmed that Vasquez performed psychological warfare on Heard.

To say that the majority of the Reddit comments were outraged at Vasquez is a huge understatement. In several posts, Vasquez's alleged actions were labeled "evil" and many commenters insulted the lawyer's ability to practice law.

The top-upvoted comment on the r/Fauxmoi post called Vasquez out this way. "This is so evil that I really don’t know how to make sense of it. How does your humanity and your empathy towards other women just go totally out of the window like this? Despicable."

Another highly upvoted comment questioned the logic of what Vasquez allegedly did. "Like the way she did this fully confident it would cause her emotional distress is like… how can you reconcile being aware a cologne could be triggering for someone and then pretend they’re lying about why it triggered them?"
