Throughout entertainment history, the major studios and television networks have released lots of content that has left viewers trying to figure out “who done it”. Since a lot of people love to sit on their couch and figure out who was responsible for a dastardly crime, many murder mystery movies have been very successful. For example, the outstanding film Knives Out was successful enough to warrant a much-talked-about sequel.
While watching a murder mystery movie is a fun and completely harmless thing to do, it sometimes seems like people can’t tell the difference between fiction and reality. After all, there have been some famous murders that happened in real life that some people seem to think they can figure out just like they were watching a Hollywood movie. For example, following the tragic demise of JonBenét Ramsey in 1996, some people seemed to think of themselves as armchair detectives involved in the investigation. Amazingly enough, some of those people came up with the wild theory that Katy Perry actually is JonBenét Ramsey all grown up.
JonBenét Ramsey’s Death Captivated The World
In late-2021, people all over the world took an interest in the disappearance of Gabby Petito. In short order, a lot of observers became convinced that Petito’s fiancé Brian Laundrie had taken her life. After the world was kept in suspense for weeks, Petito’s body tragically was found and it became clear that Laundrie was responsible for her demise.
Despite the attention that Gabby Petito’s disappearance and passing received, the media covered the most infamous crimes from the 1990s much more. For example, when O.J. Simpson stood trial for taking Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman’s lives, the coverage was wall to wall. Similarly, the tragedy that took place at Columbine High School was so horrifying that it rocked the media world to its core.
Sadly, an innocent little girl named JonBenét Ramsey lost her life when she was only 6-years-old in 1996 which resulted in her being in the middle of a media storm. The victim of a cruel homicide, Ramsey’s passing caught the attention of the masses and the media as well. The main reasons for that were two-fold, there was lots of footage of Ramsey taking part in child beauty pageants and the police weren’t able to bring anyone to justice for taking her life. For that latter reason, there are still are people looking into the circumstances of Ramsey’s demise more than 15 years after her life ended.

When Katy Perry’s music career began, there was no way for anyone to know how incredibly successful she would become. Still, even if Perry somehow knew that she was destined to be one of the biggest pop stars of her generation, she never could have imagined everything that would result in. Sure, if Perry knew she’d become a major star, she would have rest assured that she’d become rich beyond belief and enjoy all of the other fruits of fame. However, Perry never could have guessed that some people would come to believe some wild rumors about her. Most unbelievably, there is a theory that Perry actually is JonBenét Ramsey all grown up.
Over the years, there have been several conspiracy theorists on websites like YouTube and Reddit who’ve argued that JonBenét Ramsey is alive and grew up to become Katy Perry. Of course, the people who post those theories change up the details to a certain degree but their claims all come down to one thing, JonBenét Ramsey’s parents faked her death. According to the theorists, Ramsey’s parents faked her demise so they could offer up her original identity as some sacrifice to the Illuminati. In return, the newly christened Katy Perry was allowed to grown up and become a megastar.
Unsurprisingly, the people who argue that Katy Perry is JonBenét Ramsey don’t have real evidence since that obviously isn’t true. Instead, the main thing believers point to is their argument that Perry and Ramsey’s facial features have a lot of similarities. Of course, people’s faces shift as they grow up so and lots of people look similar to one another so that means nothing. On top of that, the most obvious evidence that Perry and Ramsey are different people is their age differences. After all, Perry was born in 1984 while Ramsey entered the world in 1990.
As anyone who is familiar with even the basics of the JonBenét Ramsey case should know, her parents were put through hell. After their daughter met her untimely and violent demise at an extremely early age, the Ramsey’s found themselves in the crosshairs of the media. Ultimately it would become crystal clear that the Ramsey’s weren’t responsible for what happened to their daughter and virtually everyone would accept that. However, before that happened, many members of the media and the general public openly suggested Ramsey’s parents were responsible for the crime. Considering everything the Ramseys went through, it is sad that they had to deal with people bringing up their daughter all these years later in connection to a bizarre theory.
